Henry Perenara - Worst ref in the comp

All refs have their bad days. Take Sunday at Shark Park for example. Klein has some pretty average games and is an honorary nominee. . But without doubt Perenara, week in week out, is the worst referee I have ever seen.

The NRL must know he is way out of his depth but they are so desperate to get ex players to referee they turn a blind eye to all his stuff ups. In the hope of getting more ex players to have a go.

I think most clubs fans would say the same about him. It's not just us.

Watched the Manly Sharks game again last night. I really wasn't seeing any 'errors' as such by the referees. It seemed to me that the refs were deliberately trying to get Manly a lead at the start, and when they achieved it they were trying to achieve the glorious come back to satisfy the dumb punters. We have all the calls for the first 25 minutes, some of them were pretty incorrect too. And then once we were 16 points ahead, BANG the call swung the other way.

Not sure that the NRL prescribed outcome was supposed to be, but we got a win anyway. :tmi:

I've said this before that Perenara and to an extent Munro (escort penalty against draqoons he didn't give) should not even be officiating park football, that's how bad they are. If Perenara doesn't have shares in KFC I'll be shocked with the amount of times he goes to the bunker. Fair dinkum he is clueless with zero confidence in making decisions and these guys are on over 100k.
Klein was a great ref when he first came over from UK but the last few years he's been on a De-Klein @;)

The worst part about Perenara's refereeing is that he did actually play the game at the highest level. He played 72 first grade games for the Warriors, Storm, St Merge, Worms and Sharks from 2000-2007. He also played two games in the 2000 World Cup for the NZ Maori's and one test for the Kiwis in 2001.

Just on that alone you would think he would have a feel for the game.....but he doesn't even come close.

Perenara actually having played NRL first grade and international football shows that like they don't always make good coaches, former players don't always make for good referees.

Massive CHE_T
And hates Manly and refs like he won’t let them win
I’ll never forget his performance at Penrith where he penalised Manly out of contention in an aggressive refereeing display.
