Hodges

Was impressed by Hodges given the small sample size we saw of him this year. Obviously has plenty of room for improvement, but the talent and potential are there. While he is nowhere near Ballin's level yet, I do like the breath of fresh air and different style he brings to our dummy half play. Look forward to watching him further develop next year and gain more experience.

Horo was appalling at dummy half. We were in with a winning chance while hodges was there. Great display of what a specialist brings to a position.

I posted the following in another thread before I found this thread, besides the lack of experience in 1st grade, the only thing that I can pick him up on is his passing from dummy-half. Most of the dummy-half passes seem to be a little bit too flat and bordering on forward. Other than that, he is a great find as far as I'm concerned and he will only get better with a bit more 1st grade experience under his belt. Hopefully Tooves will use him as a supplement to Matty B next year like Stranger used to be used back in the day when he was with us.

Agree with many others here.

He WILL be good. But a Matt Ballin ?.........pleaaaaase.

I noticed a bit of "hog" in him too.

The hog will be coached out of him. I like that he wants the ball and believes in himself. I don't advocate him taking over from matty. He will be good off the bench and let matty rest and we can mix it up. We won't be a one speed team.

Hodges was super...he got belted against the Rabbits with a concerning neck injury & bounces back a week later....tackled the massive pups forwards & scored a solo try to spark the team into life....plus ..only a youngster!!
This bloke was great & deserves some recognition...I back him as our 9 for many years ahead & couldn't be happier with his performance under the circumstances.
Will also add that hog factor, maybe a little excited at times but in the modern game you want a hooker asking questions all day...not just passing without playing whats in front of you.

Jayden was great. Was involved in everything. Great try put us back in the game. Only young so will only get better.

so true! Another dimension around the ruck for 10 minutes either side of half time is a great addition to our team. I am the biggest Ballin fan, and would certainly not advocate just anyway taking over even for the slimmest amount of time, but Jayden is a little champion in the making.
