Hodkinson returns to Manly

Certainly a class act both on and off the field and if last night is any indication and he can be relatively injury free , will be more then a depth signing on his return to the Sea Eagles . Also considering that at the start of the season , there was a dearth of goal kickers in the i st grade squad, now with Hodgo , D C E, Walker and maybe even Matt Wright now available, this will improve this aspect even more now with Hodko 's proven record in that department [ and as a field goal specialist ]

Bottom line is we were awful in terms of our attack in the first half. Nevrr looked like scoring and neither did the storm. The game was so clunky .DCE and Walks are both great players in their own right but no one could consider it a long term plan so get Trent in there.. it’s not rockets science. We scored 22points in the second half and two in the first and had a bloke out there who if needed could ice the game with a goalkick.

It’s a no brainer. Anyway unfortunately not an issue with Dylan out. Just can’t catch s break. He is so important to us.

He will be more settled in next week after a couple of training runs and getting to know some of our structured plays. As experienced as he is he was kinda thrown in the deep end, but he did come on at the perfect time. I honestly believe that he does pass the ball a little too flat at times for my liking, high risk plays. Manlys attack works better with a deeper set backline, especially within the opponents 20. He could very well turn out to be the buy of the season and a perfect fit in this Manly team.

Hodko can play. The only question mark on him are those bloody knees. Hope they can stay intact

I never remembered Hodkinson’s defense being so non existent as it has since he has come back to us. Not just today, the bloke can’t tackle.
