I was getting stale at the Tigers: Sironen

What gets me is how Taylor is considered a first grade coach, he's coached about 3 clubs and has done nothing. He's got a coaching record that suggests he should be in charge of an under 9's team somewhere.@:)

11. Steve Menzies
12. Daniel Gartner
13. Nik Kosef

Honestly, holy **** ! How is that for a backrow. Jeez Manly fans were spoilt. Didn't they all play for Australia as well? Gartner played 1, I'm sure.

Best I had it in that era was Billy Moore, Greg Florimo and a number of ring ins.
You're right @Ryan they did all play for Australia at some point. Yes, what a backrow!

Built with the size of a back-rower but the skills of a halfback, Sironen said new coach Trent Barrett spent the summer encouraging him to bring out his creativity, and he responded with a two-try effort in Auckland.

Reading this reminds me a lot of Gifty in his prime and hopefully he'll play like him, or even better!

I'm very pleased with this quote from Sironen: "It was a bit of reality shock coming to Manly. No one cares what you've done or who you are."
So, how come Mr Plod and Poo Brown get selected in our top 13 each week?
Truth is they are purely selected on who they are!

At least Taylor recognised that Farah was a cancer and got rid of him, he also recognised that Sironen was stale and got rid of him. Our coach still think Api is a great dummy half FFS.

did very well as caretaker coach (for parra i think). After that, nada

I suppose if you are stale as a biscuit its time to move on ,especially before you get soggy.

Most have seen this game as it is a classic, but just look at Daniel Gartner terrorise Brisbane.
Look at:
3:38 to 4:38

I only make ( on average ) one Brooky game a year , I was so privileged to be on the hill, almost in front of where Hill scored that day.

We didn't win but bloody hell it felt good at the time!!

Gee Mark, you must've been sitting near me and we didn't know it.
I always sit near that corner and when Tezza stood up Tallis he was running straight at us, he was always going to score.
He had no doubt either, he was never going to look for support and knew he had Lockie beaten - that was Tezza is his prime, class with enough ego to know how good he was.
And let's not forget Reeves' goalkicking, the come back would never have been on unless he kicked the last three from the sideline.

My daughter who was eight at the time still remembers that game fondly, although we try not to talk too much about "The Sharp era".

Yes it was mostly ****, but that was a shining light from the 1999 era.

I lived in Moree at the time and was down for a concert, and of course had to include Brooky.

So very pleased I did!!
