The mate who's got our tickets went to the casino last night and is not yet awake at 10am. I may have to take action with a swat team attack on his house to de-comatose him.
LOL that's like us - the mate of ours with all our tickets was heaps seedy on game day - him and his crew didnt get to the Pub until about 12:40, whilst a few of us were there before 11:30 heh.
He looked a bit wrecked when he did arrive, and his first beer didnt go down too good, heh.
But all was good, we got the free shuttle bus around 1:45 up to the stadium - would have liked to have gotten there earlier to see more of the u20's game but shrug.
Would have been hell easy to walk btw, the only downsides would have been:
1) Distractions whilst browsing all the shops and stuff when going thru that massive shopping complex,
2) If it rained heavily, and
3) Keeping a traveller or 2 (beer/bourbon can) somewhat easily hidden in case whatever authoritah doesn't like the idea of drinking in the open in that area.
Anyway, the stadium was pretty good, reasonable facilities (if only 1 kind of beer unfortunately - the 1st thing I asked the bar staff 1st up was: "Is there any other type of beers?"), and the whole place was a bit sterile.
I got my classic "All day!" call in nicely just after the 1st penalty against the Titans - stood up after a few secs and the initial cheering/raucus died down and screamed: "He's been doin' it all day ref! A-allll, Daaaa-aaayyy!"
(I can do this, as I come from Newcastle NSW).Â
I got into a few other nice loud manly cheers & chants, and had a few cheers across the corner of the park toward the Bay with the bulk of Manly freaks - there were a lot of Sea Eagles fans there actually, all up I reckon over 35% - kickass!
The entire day was pretty good up until 2 mins before full time when Manly were RIPPED OFF with that call that sure may have been a lineball knock-on, but should NOT have been a penalty.
