Interesting Statistic

No point winning of our trials then.
Most of the teams that played well in trials lost their first round.

Here is another interesting stat.

In the NRL, Blake Green has played 67 games at 5/8. He's won 35 and lost 32......34 of those wins were at Melbourne with Cronk as the halfback.

His last win without Cronk as his halfback partner in an NRL game was Round 4, 2007.

Edit: That game in 2007 (doesn't-matta beat Canberra 38-6) was also Green's debut in the NRL.

It would have been nice to start with a win, If we had controlled the ball we had a great chance to do so. You cant win with only 35 percent of the ball. The resilient defence was great though and if we can keep that up we will be fine this season.

I was going to say that Gutherson was better than Green yesterday but I won't

Here's some interesting Stats:

From round 22, 2014 (When it became clear Gifty would not play for us again) to now we have won 21 games and lost 37 games for a win ratio 36.21%.

Since the current coaching regime took over we have won 8 games and lost 17 games for a win ratio of 32%.

Not a statistic, but by my count we have noted 11 different excuses for those results, which by my calculations makes us a laughing stock.

Barrett's 8 wins from 25 games sticks in my mind. Cheers Ralphie!

Parra were better???
They had all the ball yet won by only 3 tries to 2.
We let our selves down with our ball control
Bad refereeing also contributed to our one try loss
If we had the same amount of possession I believe we would have won
I agree with your observations.

I would add one thing. Parra were better than us in that they played what was presented and came away with the win. What was presented to Parra may not have been as challenging or difficult as what Manly faced, but that is never counted in any win/loss record that determines table position, final performances or premierships.

Fair enough feathered friend

That defense on our line showed grit and determination. Hang on to the pill and get our attack in gear and we'll trouble every side .
