I’ve got a good deal of respect for Lyall and I think , given the constraints , he’s doing a fine job.

Oh sure not delivering everyone’s wishes as fast as you’d all
like BUT he’s very hamstrung by what he inherited and Rome wasn’t built in a day!!

I’d rather him than any of the others we’ve had over the past 2-3 years.

He’s just not going to be able to fix the basket case we are overnight.

Have patience , I know it’s hard but I’m sure he’s doing the best he can.

Deserves more time imo, and certainly hasn’t done anything that could be deemed to be catastrophic to the joint... have to agree with big Mark.

Woodsie. I normally like your stuff but the last month you’ve kept defending Barrett and he had 3 years. I defended him for ages but he showed his colors when he let his manager try to manipulate **** and **** us over. Lyall has been here a year. Inherited a disfunctional coach and salary cap. Amongst other things.

Personally I’m going to give him some time because whether it’s spin or not at least he’s talking to the fans. I don’t remember anyone else doing it. I at least get the impression he cares and he’s trying

My Avalanche started the year beating The Wild 4-1, so good start today. Awesome following a team that can win.

Also support Swans and Chelsea, so I'm kind of spoiled. Manly is the only real crapshoot. Chalk and cheese the qualities of the ownerships of my other teams compared to Penn's debacle.

A coach drives players on the piss etc... Proper coaches discipline their players for the kind of behaviour you are speaking of. It had fark all to do with a list manager/owner/CEO and everything to do with a p1ss weak general who wants to be everyone’s mate. If what you write is true (and I have no reason to doubt you) it is yet another example of SuperCoach being completely out of his depth.

Mate, I know as fact that Trent imposed an alcohol ban, which was ignored. I think it was about 4 weeks before the end of the season.

It was after the flogging we got from The Eels I think (or Chooks) - can't remember, where all the players were out partying to all hours (my niece interacting with them dispite my protests).

Barrett also told the group not to go out at Gladstone (which was also ignored, and I heard Trent was actually with them in the end).

Not sure why these Indian Bong smoking gizmos are all the buzz with the team ATM (not illegal btw). Or why they'd smoke on social media (in my mind, just looks ridiculous, but I'm a fossil).

Honestly, our players aren't taking their careers seriously. They believe they rule the roost. They decide on who should coach, which player should sign, as there is 0 accountability.

That's why the LAST thing we need, is a laid back, have 27 beers with the boys Cartwright. We need a hard head that will tear up contracts if they do the wrong thing, aren't on the bus, and aren't dedicated to the cause.

It's all about partying, gaming, and the celebrity status right now. I'm sure they think they are in an American gang or something. Home Boys. LOL.
