Is Luke brooks the piece we’ve been missing

Bit rich calling him a traitor if Manly were too dumb to see his potential/want him
He didn’t perform well in a trial game for the M-W junior rep teams. He admitted that himself.

Try and see it as a darkly humorous dig at the young man, who I wish was playing in a Manly jumper.

He didn’t go on with the tackle. He managed to let go once Preston was lifted. Preston ducks his head finding the ground playing for the penalty which is out of Brooks control.

I feel the there has to be repercussion for players ducking their heads putting themselves in a dangerous position amplifying risk like what Preston did.
There's commitment for you, risking a broken neck for a penalty.

Agree with brooks not getting suspended though.

Brooks again undoubtedly giving the side a real boost this season , showing good ball playing skills combined with his sharp and elusive natural running game .
Defence [ which i just had a few doubts pre season ] has held up pretty well against all types of oppositions and some good attacking individuals
.Kicking game , fairly well attuned as well .
Sure that he will be very well focused for the remainder of the season and doing his best to help Manly go as far as possible

Agree. His defence has been outstanding

I actually think Brooks has fitted in better than we could have hoped. It would have been completely acceptable for him to a quiet and/or up and down year as he finds his feet at a new club in one of the most crucial positions on the field. Instead, he’s been a top 3 contributor across the season. I only have DCE and maybe Brown as the other two most influential performers this year. Sure, Talau has exceeded expectation and there’s those great moments from Hoppa. But across the course of the year, Brooks has been one of our best and most consistent.

Yep. This was the one area that concerned me when he signed, but he has been great defensively all year. He makes his tackles (often on big forwards) and works well with the other players on his side.

I also like his commitment to defence and the team as a whole. It was great to see him yelling and screaming after good defensive plays against the Dogs. He's really invested in the team and it seems like all the boys enjoy playing with him. Individually, he's been great, and he's lifted the rest of the team. Can't really ask for more.
