[Resurrected] Is the NRL competition rigged?

Vidmar, having worked as a parole officer for three and a half decades, I came across time and again the damage caused by gambling. Good people, mothers, young adults, people from all walks of life both wealthy and poor, getting caught up in habitual behaviour resulting from gambling, stealing hundreds of thousands to maintain their habit which governments do little about because of the money being earned by these practises,. Most of these people are not criminally oriented. They are usually good people in other regards. But the availability of various gambling outlets promoting the dream destroys these lives and often damages the victims who have had their finances stolen. Made me sick. I know Vidmar's focus is on the corruption inherent in the gambling industry, but only governments and the gambling industry as well as the criminal elements involved, gain from this abhorrent practise. Well presented Vidmar
I’m much more comfortable not being sponsored by Pointsbet or Lottoland. At least Coco Joy was harmless (except to their creditors).

Can order six-agains at will.
Has the NRL ever come out and stated how this is supposed to work?
I've seen a few times ref's have blown a penalty for some player 'out of play' after several players have handled in a movement and I'm, 'Wow that's so hard to spot, good on the ref.'
But maybe bunker tips the ref on stuff like that? And 6 agains??

If cricket is anything to go by you can gamble on the most inane outcomes. Such things as who wins the toss; number of no-balls bowled, no. of sixers hit etc. It's not necessarily 'throwing' the match. It's perceived as 'incidental' to the overall result of a match.
I imagine you can wager on similar inconsequential matters in rugby league. ie. Number of tackles a player makes/misses, no. of penalties, 40:20s, no. of six-agains etc. These sort of things are easy to manipulate without arousing suspicion.
There are so many strange rulings in every match these days you never know. The one thing certain is that when money is available to be made, rorts are certain to happen.

I worked in pubs / clubs from mid 90's to 2011.
Pokie gambling should be abolished today. All the arguments for it don't stack up to the harms done.
Racing (and now sports) betting has become so engrained in young people with no controls over them.
I did regular training on problem gambling and attempted many interventions (as required by laws) but now it's not manageable due to internet betting where nobody sees what the individual is doing.

Someone collated all the suggested multi bets shown in the pre game of AFL matches ( as we see in NRL) and if you took every bet they suggested ( responsibly lol) you would only have won 8% of the time. Farking criminal that this is pushed down our throats.

Betting agencies spend many, many millions advertising and sponsoring sports.
Why? Because they make massive, massive profits selling their addictive product.

But I hope you aren't suggesting more govt regulation? Don't forget govt regulation is bad! it inhibits our freedom as individuals (lol) it holds back the beauty of the mythical free market
(sarcasm alert)
