Yep remember the weeks leading up to it. Stealing money from parents wallets to go down to the toy shop (about a 5km bike ride away) stocking up on it all. Then they banned bungers, Tom thumbs and eventually it all bastards. The bonfires were great but always got in trouble for lighting fires before hand.

Fireworks going off here in Humpty Doo, makes the Battle of the Somme look like Play school.
We bought some for the kid, was trying to watch the game & light crackers.

Went well. I had a bumble bee shoot inside my shirt so a bit of a sore bicep. Also fed the dog too much of her temazipam. She got almost killed by dingos last year and has been a bit anxious since then. Probably gave her too much because she got the munchies and ended up standing on the dining table. She also jumped on me at one stage and I spilled a full beer on myself and the couch. It's still going off outside unbelievable what people will pay. Watched at least 3 people drop more than five hundred bucks on assorted packs this morning.

I swear one of you sat in front of me in the Ken Arthurson stand last night. I'm quietly sitting there with a mate, and someone walks along our isle, to find his seat, and realises his row is the one in front, so he throws a leg over to climb down the row, and smashes me in the shin with his steel cap boot.

As the tear came to my eye and I winsed in pain, I thought to myself, which one of you bastards is it, and took the opportunity to lay the boot in, literally 🙂

Territory Day, July 1 it's legal in the NT to buy your own & let them off at home.
People stock up & fireworks go off for weeks & weeks after.

Yes we are at Uluru today and there are fire crackers going of everywhere. Reminds me of my youth.
