penns time is at a major crossroads in my eyes. He either needs to penny up with some decent investment of get the F out of the way.

He was a savior of sorts and his time could be appreciated but his legacy will probably have a cherry whiff as well in the end. There were board wars, AVO’s . It was ugly but from this fans view , he still has his nose out of joint. His relationship with Des, and the tooves political sacking were just ego and ripped out the heart so get off your effing high horse and replace it , mr results driven

As a private company that shows very limited desire to appease fans, or to grow it makes me wonder why people still buy memberships

How does it help the club

No shares are conceded, no extras , the shoestring eagles
The NRL covers everything .

Where does any extra profit or growth go and who does it belong too

It is the only fans bargaining tool. We can always go back, join in june before tax time but think about the journey of your hard earned in these times .

You cant be the supreme boss and ask for handouts . Maybe even remove club from some of its dealings

I cancelled mine for the same reasons some time back and would return tomorrow if this entity didnt stink

I didn't renew when he sacked Toovey.
He has done zero to earn my support ( him / the business) since.
A decade of poor decisions and failures.

Sell up fluffy

Not sure just how many seasons prior to the last couple and with the Penns as the majority shareholder but were some seasons there where the club was running at a loss and the Penns had to chip in to cover it
Know that are the circumstances with the old Leagues club area and whatever commercial benefit there to take into account but the loss years were covered without any real fun fare apparently out of their own pocket
N R L provide some 13 , 5 mil to the clubs so still some 8 to 10 mil required to make up the short fall for a moderately functioning N R L club and to come from some other source including memberships
So every bit does surely help with the bottom line and more memberships can only help to attract for instance more sponsorships
Anyway not here to defend the Penns with their 62 % ownership share or any of the other two entities who constitute the other 38 % of the franchise
It is what it is for better or worse right now and has been for some time

Much was made of the out of pocket expenses with penn and delmege were around. Very ugly. Not sure who he could cry to about having to support his business once he got full control, while he was slowly dismantling the club for seemingly personal reasons

Remember manly kept snake and matai on our cap for over 12 months to avoid paying them out. That is a direct whinge at out of pocket exp

Sponsorhip revenue is also part but i know F/A about

gate takings , merch fans get an instant return for your buck

But many non ticketed memberships are donations
Penn will have his understandable financial reasonings but if he sold his association at the eagles he would end up a financial gain

But does the current investment align with the marketing, strategy and fans expectations . Are we really competing ?

This is no ordinary business its a community and with that comes added responsibility , max knew it

There comes a time when the right thing should be paramount and not sit on a club as a long term investment with only the NRL having the desire to invest , our clubs only big improvements in his time have come from PV and gov upgrading brookie

The penny pinching Penns have brought nothing but mediocrity to this once prolifically successful club.
I cannot envisage that we will make a Grand Final in this decade which will be the first in the history of the club.Something to be proud of!
And the only reason they signed Cherry Evans on that lucrative deal was because they failed to lure the bargain buys to the club.
I’m not wanting to sound pessimistic but at the moment I’m not liking the direction the club is heading based on the success the club built on.Time will tell I suppose.

Good points , also like to see as many helpful inclusions as possible to boost things along and still can not see the reasoning for disbanding for instance , that Ladies support grouping the Golden Eagles or Angels ? was it ,
They seemed a real asset to the joint

For many years I’ve smiled at those not paying their memberships inwardly thinking “ that means **** all “.

I’ve been a member for 21 years , yes not a platinum , gold , whizz bang membership but still be seen to support the club I love.

But that all ends here.

Not that the message will get through but as soon as I get the “ auto renewal “ message I’ll be asking them to cancel that , and I’ll tell them the reason that’s happening.

There will clearly be many who want to attend games that will continue to buy “ ticketed memberships “ , and honestly , that’s fair enough but the membership I pay is purely a “ donation “ and I can now see that this donation is just to give Mr Fluffy a ROI, so **** that , and **** his ROI.

It’s 100% clear to me that Fluffy puts absolutely bugger all out of his own pocket into the operation ( now , maybe not in the past ) , it’s “ Budget Central” as far as how the club is run.

The cheapest staff , the budget football department , not spending a cent over what the NRL fund, **** me we have work experience kids running social media , there’s just a lack of funding , anywhere.

So , there’s only one way to hurt Mr Fluffy.

His bottom line.

And my small protest will only be small but if a 1000 or 2000 others do the same that’ll be significant.

Well he did name the centre of excellence after himself.
Should tell people all they need to know.

As I've said before he can't even arrange some decent 3rd party sponsorship.
I know amateur sports in SEQ who can do it FFS.

5 auto renew season seat memberships cancelled around $3K gone. Ony way to show we are disillusioned with the direction and owners of the club.

Considering brookie was a sell out for what all but two games do you honestly think it matters the owners?

I have also heard doing nothing works . Apathy the silver bullet to change

I come from a rime where business preferred to hear your concerns rather than just not coming back

Might give thework experience guy the hire in Feb , somewhere to start. Hope he lasts to march

They weren't eligible for medical retirement. So if you pay them out they don't have to turn up to rehab or training, but it still counts on the cap.
Pretty sure that's how it works

Pretty sure it was ryan on these pages somewhere that contacted NRL . They replied Manly didnt apply

Watmough was moved off parras books in exactly the same way, existing injury etc, no insurance pay out, but retired
