Look, his dad has a high paid position, I doubt he grew up as a battler. It won't all be about money for Foran, it will about making the most of his footy career.

He has to balance a club he knows and enjoys, with a great record of success, but possibly facing a rebuilding phase, versus a club he doesn't know, but also with a record of success, a top coach that he obviously respects, and which club is (allegedly, but probably) on the rise, on-field and off.
Not an easy choice but I'm sure he'll make the right decision.

Do you think a consideration could be what impact his decision has on his brothers' NRL prospects.

Earnie, I'm not putting words in your mouth....but are you saying the Bulldogs might only want one Foran?

what I am saying is if Kieran leaves, Liam gets his chance to play NRL at Manly. If Kieran stays at Manly, Liam plays NSW Cup.

He might consider by leaving he is doing Liam a favour. I dont know he might not really care about that. outcome for Liam.

apparently manly have met every demand he has asked for,but he still stalls, how would young reynolds be feeling now, maybe we could snatch him,he has potential

With all these player movements and speculation it takes away the enjoyment of watching rugby league. The NRL and the IC have to bring in a system where there is a window for players to negotiate or bring in the draft, anything that stops this crap ruining another season and I'm not just talking about Manly players.

Gone are the days where we are usually discussing last weeks match or the upcoming match. It's all about contracts and I for one has lost a lot of interest in the game. It doesn't seem right barracking for a team or player when a number of players have signed elsewhere for the following season. Maybe they should bring in a rule where rivals and their current club can only negotiate contracts when the players contact has for example 3 months before it expires. I don't know what the answer is but the enjoyment is fast deteriorating.

Liam Foran has been a reserve grader for 6 years with 3 clubs. If we end up with him at 5/8 god help us..He has nothing to do with it.Kieran could not possibly think him leaving guarantees his brother an NRL career at Manly.

It is of little relevance.Kieran Foran is a Bulldog next year.

Manly just need to get on with it.

Is that what you have heard susan? Definately a dog next year?

As Earnie said he will well and truely be crapping on manly if he announces that he is going to the dogs this week. It may also open the floodgates for others to leave as well.

If Kerian goes then Liam will be cut lose. The club will find another 5/8 possibly Riccardi

Time for Manly to come out and tell him to sign by 6pm Sunday or offer contract withdrawn

Any GM or coach that tried to pull that kind of move with one of his best players would be looking at getting the sack for it, in any sport.

Sacked ? I dont think so.

Theres a subtle difference. The offer doesnt necessarily need to be converted to an timeframe sensitive ultimatum.

Player managers understand full well that quite often contract offers are subject to the club potentially finalising other player contracts. If those other player contracts are under negotiation then offers can expire/be withdrawn/renegotiated.

In this case, it would merely take Manly to finalise, say TRexs contract, which would have ramifications for Forans contract. No need to place a specific deadline & no club official being sacked.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if Gary Riccardi is a specialist halfback or has he played 5/8 in the past ?

Its obvious now that Foran was always going and has gutlessly strung us along to save face. Much the same as his gutless mentor Des's contract negotiations. He must have told Manly that he is leaving and now they have threatened legal action (and rightly so). If this is true it says alot about him that he would rather see our club end up in the courts than stay with Manly. This Hasler B@@tard has really sold his soul to the devil. He has so much bad Karma coming to him its not even funny. How disappointing is he as a person, held in such high regard and now only liked because he inflicts hurt and negativity on our proud club.

I think to be fair, Fozzy is genuinly torn about what to do. The fact is its decision time, he or any other player must understand that the club MUST come first and be allowed to move on.

I listened to comments from Zorba and Bulldog Ritchie this morning on the 2KY breakfast show and they both were unsure about what will happen. Both saiid that their gut feelings were that Foz might indeed stay.

One way or another it has to be decided and soon so we can ensure that we sign the players who are the bread and butter of the team.

As for the ex coach who today in his SMH interview stated that he hoped his legacy would not be overshadowed by events after the GF, I think its fair to say that the average fan can handle a coach leaving a club but to do that in the same breath as a grand final celebration is quite unforgivable to many.

Obvious my left nut.

People if the money was the same , why would he leave ??

Now with the realibality that Susan is & telling us it's a done deal , is not a shock.

His delay of signing after his mate and partner dce signed was telling us something.

Then the dogs made it public the other day indirectly with that tshirt message .there was no point in that message if it wasnt related to our players
Cmon are we all living in denial ???

I just hope it manly hasn't lost time with signing trex & others during this dilemma

Unfortunately the fact Manly have admitted they are thinking of taking legal action means Foran has already signed with the Dogs. If so we need to let it go and try to at least keep Trex, Snake and Ballin. Before this all flared up i actually thought keeping Trex was more important then keeping Foz as we are lacking decent go forward anyway. Keeping Foran here against his will is not a productive exercise. Also lets be honest DCE has been outshining Foran for quite a while now, the last time Foran really stood up and dragged our team to a win was against the Roosters last year.

There is no point in taking legal action and attempting to keep a player here against his will. He might be genuinely torn about where to sign, if that is the case he should be given as much time as he needs. It is not the end of our club if he does leave, it means we have $$$ to sign somebody else. One option is Jamie Lyon may finish his career at #6 and we buy a young quality centre, or if the club decides to seek another five eight, they should eyes on Harry Seijka. He was the blues best in the under 20's origin last night.

done and dealt tookey

There is a guy on LU who posts under the name of dickefalos who said back in November last year that Foran had signed with the dogs.

It looks like it might be another Hasler situation where the deal was completed long ago and Foran/Hasler has strung us along to ensure maximum damage to the club whereby we lose other players due to perceived lack of salary cap assuming that Foran was staying.

Should we really listen to someone who calls himself dickefalos?

You are losing the plot if you are prepared to call Foran a liar because you'd rather believe a conspiracy theory put out by 'someone who posts on LU'.
