LEGENDARY Sea Eagles hardman Terry “Igor” Randall gets excited every time he sees Manhy’s rising star Jake Trbojevic smashing a rival with a big tackle.

And he can’t wait to see 23-year-old Trbojevic rip into the Kiwis in his first Test for the Kangaroos on home soil this evening ’s in Canberra.

Randall earnt a fearsome reputation in his 208-game career with Manly between 1970-82, especially because his classical and punishing tackling technique which was without peer in what was often brutal era full of renowned tough men.

And like a lot of other keen observers, Randall can see a lot of similarities between his defence and that of Trbojevic today.

Great spell checking from the Telegraph before going to print.

"Manhy's"
“He got good technique"

Loved it when he scored and the congratulations by all of the Aussie team. Seemed quite genuine and shows how much he is valued by his teammates

They should put old man Trbojevic
out to stud. At least until he's sired another dozen champions.

lol, I reckon he might be on board with the creative part of that! (Maybe not so much the $$$$ in raising.)

Jake is our next captain for sure. He had gone up several gears in the last 2 seasons and through the team going through such adversity he has learned the lessons a lot like the great team we just had had to learn during the period of 2002-2005. We are fortunate to have him in our team.

The thing I enjoy the most is that this kid just loves playing football, gives 100% all the time, and would rather die than not backing up a team mate. Truly a great clubman as well. The whole family brought up the right way and shows equal respect.

He is very old school which is why he is so popular with team mates and fans. Bloody legend.

Just heard on 2mmm. The whole family were in Canberra last night to watch Jake play and then drove back to Leichhardt to watch Ben play Harold Matthews. Great family

There are photo's on some of the Manly FB pages of Jake and Tommy at Leichhardt today.

With all of the crap going on this weekend with things like drugs, out of the mire come the Turbo's who should easily be the next faces of the game. Hell, they should be the current faces of the game.
