Jennings in the waiting

Agree, go for Robert Jennings. When Hoppa can play:

01. Tom Trbojevic
02. Albert Hopoate
03. Robert Jennings
04. Dylan Walker
05. Jade Anderson
06. Kane Elgey
07. Daly Cherry-Evans

Get a few more long range tries happening. Very young as well, so could stay together an age.

08. Marty Taupau
09. Apisai Koroisou
10. Addin Fonua-Blake
11. Joel Thompson
12. Curtis Sironen
13. Jake Trbojevic

14. Manase Fainu
15. Kelepi Tanginoa
16. Taniela Paseka
17. Moses Suli

Not sure I'll ever get over that memory of him diving to score that try a millimetre from the dead ball line in 2013 GF to seal the game. Be hard to cheer for him.
I share the same sentiments with you on that 2013 grand final try but if he produces match wining form and scores for us it would be hard not to cheer for him .
Never the less I have high hopes that Walker will be ok .

Yes as the default position is probably Parker. A no brainer for me.
I would literally take anyone over parker..
Even with walker in the squad I can't see why we can't secure Jennings as well at the right price considering we were looking at depth in the centre position prior to the walker dilemma. There has to be someone who wants a first grade gig who is stuck behind someone at their current club surely.. one that would come cheap for a yr or two for the opportunity. Players such as Olam or burns, perhaps players left in the dark or would return to the nrl if given a chance for e.g. moon, lolohea, hayne. Any of these players imo if they would agree around the 200k Mark for a year would be ideal regardless of their baggage. That's just shows how much faith I have in parker and how much I believe we need to add some spark/ strike to our back 5

After releasing Kelly, and with Walker's immediate future up in the air, we're in (or might be in) pretty desperate need of an experienced centre. If Walks is unavailable the cupboard of experienced centres at Manly is Suli and Parker, or Jorge. Other than that its either weaken the back row by playing Thommo at centre, or weaken fullback to play Turbo there.

Des has no plans to move Turbo. And I highly doubt moving Thommo is on his mind.

Like him or not I'd take Michael Jennings right now, even if Walks is free to play. He ticks the boxes as a player. Experience, skills, still got good speed and has decent defence.

Agree with your fears mate but Jennings on 800k, is surreal. Even if the Eels pick up half of that, 400k is a hell of a lot for him and I would rather offer his brother from Souths that 400k.
I would hope Des has a plan in mind. Actually, i'm sure he has more than one.

I'm confident it will come out ok in the wash.

I'd rather we got his brother as well mate. But as much as I don't like the guy, right now we could do a hell of a lot worse.

Case in point......BP, and I don't mean the Smokemart.

Nah...Des doesn't go for left field selections......T-Rex in the halves for example hahaha

Not having a go at you, mate.

I’d like to know if Tim Lafai has one centre spot at Saints as that could mean Evan Aitken might be fighting for a spot. They keep talking up Zac Lomax as if he has one spot so if Aitken wants a spot, I’d love to have him. Unless they move Lomax to wing but they also have Dufty they could use there.

I think Aitken runs rings around Lafai and I’d have him and Lomax as Saints starting centres. Let’s hope McGregor is an idiot and goes for Lafai. @;)

In saying that, I don’t think Walker will be convicted and may only serve a few weeks suspension. We may only need a backup until he’s available again.

Lafai and Aitken were their starting centres all last year so I doubt that situation is going to change. They have lost McDonald, Nightingale and Kurt Mann so outside back depth isn't great - Lomax most likley on wing. Their dilemma is how to use the Widdop / Dufty / Norman choices in the 1 and 6 roles.

Widdop is gone

Lomax is too slow for the wing, probably too slow for centre as well
