The Knights blocked a Manly bid to land Jack Hetherington
Hetherington has been told he can leave the Knights at the end of the season but Manly were hoping to get their hands on him earlier than that as they looked to compensate for the loss of Taniela Paseska, Nathan Brown and Haumole Olakau’atu, all of whom are sidelined with injury.

However, it is understood the Knights rejected the approach as they look to keep their top-eight hopes alive.

Fascinated to know how all that works AWDC? Does it all go through the NRL head office? Is there someone who orchestrates it all?

The NRL are only involved at the time in which the contract is required to be registered or when both clubs come to agreement on the player swap/exchange.

Prior to the above, player managers and clubs attend to a majority of all discussions unless the discussions require an NRLPA/NRL clarification on the players contractual position with "X" club.

No player can be forced to engage in a release unless it is a mutual release or the club "pays out" a contract which would be ludicrous as it included in the cap adjustment/assessment at the end of the year and you may be in breach if you haven't accounted for said payments/terminations in the appropriate manner.

It's been a busy 72 hours in our office with movements and queries flying in thick and fast on contractual obligations and commitments.

I doubt the club would advertise their interest anymore than media reports like Da Silva. At least not until someone signs anyway, if anyone signs.

First and foremost, this is a footy forum nothing else. Everytime JA gets mentioned he always get bagged with Rainbow gate or his religion, everyone has the right to their opinon, thats fine but to keep going on about it gets tedious and Nauseous. its like to constant bagging of the players, the coach and the CEO, again it gets tedious and nauseous, yes I have bagged them out a bit but not to the extent of some of you guys. But like someone else said before, there is 16 others teams out there if you dont like what you are seeing, FO and go follow them. I have followed this club all my life and I will with follow them with until last breath, through the good times and the bad times I will stick solid.
