It's a bad deal only with a short term perspective. It seems clear that JA has a low ceiling, and is unlikely to develop into a regular first grader. On the other hand, we have acquired a young prop forward with some potential. It sounds like a good deal for 2026 and beyond.

This makes sense. Also we've done the right thing by Jakob, who was probably expecting more chances at Manly but has been a good squad member. It's a plus for a club to be known as doing the right thing for their players.

Bryan (or Paul) can join the squad immediately, even share busted shoulder jokes with Haumole, and be ready to hit the ground running and tackling next season.
