Latu Fainu and Kobe Fulton grab doubles in win

Two tries in seven minutes by exciting young five-eighth Latu Fainu saw the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles record a 24-14 win over the Illawarra Steelers today.

Good summary here. I was out there yesterday to see the SG boys go around. Tight, tough game with the Steelers throwing a lot of attack at us.....until Latu Fainu stood up and scores two individual tries. Game over. This kid has some serious talent and looks quite mature and stable. Big future I think. Impressed once again with Josh Feledy.....made some big breaks that should have led to tries and pulled off some big one-on-one tackles. Also impressed with our other centre Fletch Myers (?). Not seen him play before but gee he looks the goods with very limited opportunities. This side could go through unbeaten this year.

I think Fletcher got a run in the second half of our trial, maybe out on the left wing? He was listed as 29.

I think you will find that 6 (?) members from last years premiership winning Harold Matts side are in this years SG Ball side. Plus some good new additions. So they are a strong side. Latu and Feledy the star billing with some very good big boppers in the middle. They will be there or thereabouts end of season (April?).

We are starting to grow a very strong junior base thanks to Scotty and the team, we might even be up there with Penrith. And with that, as Penrith has experienced, these other sneaky clubs that come and poach some of our talent. It's inevitable. Sucks to lose Josh, looks like a real star in the making but we can't match everyone's price.

Oh, I have just read that it is a three year deal. He'll still be young by the time he returns home.
