Just opinions please...

What has Gorman achieved since he has been here ?? Not necessarily saying he is bad, but he's hardly been sighted this season and definitely hasn't hit any home runs from what I can recall. Sponsors ? player signings ? progress on Brookie ? "turning the joint around" ?? - the place is as big as a basket case as it has ever been. On field results are embarrassingly poor

He seems to be living on reputation, a flurry of fluffy members emails over the last couple of weeks is great, but really has our situation improved under his tenure ?? He could likely be hamstrung by greater forces, who knows, he wouldn't be the first. Maybe my expectations were too high after the school teacher disaster, but it's been a little underwhelming IMO. Happy to be convinced otherwise

I just feel he is keeping us in the loop as much as possible, and he seems to have a good business brain.

Was about to answer then saw Happily Manly's response and she nails it!

It’s the hidden agenda’s that scare me more. What was the true motive for ownership? To sell off assets, turn a profit and leave a corpse? It’s been happening for decades in business. Ansett a good case study of a business stripped bare. Any debts are then written off against the folding business as a limited liability company.

The single reason for the existence of owners, a CEO, a front office, admin staff, and football staff is .. the football team ...

The sole purpose of that existence is to put that football team on the park each week with every single advantage they can possibly give them ... they have no other function.

In this purpose they are failing both the team and the coach miserably ....

You may change the coach, but unless the others remember why they even exist ... nothing will change long term ...

I respectfully disagree....the sole existence of most (not all but most) is to make as much money as they can. Not saying it is right but that is what it is

... with the transition to private ownership, your comments are relevant, however I would counter that the best way to do that is to have a successful football team building your brand ...

The counter argument is also that in the specific case of NRL teams, the truth is that historically they have all lost money every year with only a few notable exceptions, being Bronco's and the odd good year. ... thank heavens for successful Leagues clubs and chook raffles ..

Any buyer that purchased a club with the notion of getting rich is likely to be sadly disappointed, and in fact if any purchased a club without the afore knowledge that they would be tipping up the coffers to the tune of several million a year ... seriously deluded ..

But ...the NRL have ambition and dreams to fully 100% fund teams in the future .... so happy days are ahead .... GreenTurd says so ...

Yeah, we haven't even got a another new Brookvale Oval redevelopment diorama from him yet? New CEOs usually trot that out pretty quickly? What's happening there?

He's no good at papier-mache, that's where Cleary the chalkie had it all over him.
