Kaeo Weekes

Did we lose Weekes to retain Koula, Schuster or any of those other guys? I mean there's plenty examples of it happening even in recent memory the first that comes to mind is Gutherson for Trbojevic.

With the benefit of hindsight do you think Gutherson being available and developing into a leader would've been better for the club than what we got with Tommy? No knock on Tommy either, I'm referring to general availability.

I hope every Manly player, especially juniors, who leave Manly for other NRL opportunities succeed and I don't think we've flicked too many who "weren't good enough" that went on to achieve heaps elsewhere. I'm sure it's happened, I just don't think we lose many players we develop or want unless there's a greater need at the time it happens - especially these days.

Hindsight is 20/20, or something like that...

All that aside, that was a great try
That it was. And it makes me happy seeing him do well. He didn't really have a path to full-time NRL with us, so it was good of the club to give him an early release, and he's really found a home at Canberra. Good on him.

As for his speed, I saw an article this week that had him clocked as the fastest player in the NRL so far this season. It then went through the fastest player at each position. Haumole had the top speed for a second rower.

Weekes is doing pretty well and that was a great try but lets be honest.

He doesn't make our 17 atm so not sure what we are lamenting.

I do love nothing more than when former players/juniors get no mention for months then do something and up pops a thread complaining about the one that got away.

No doubt Samuela will do some big fend and run soon and up will pop a thread.

Ramien will get a double and up will pop a thread.

Feledy will play a game and up will pop something and don't get me started on Tom Wright.

Reactionary highlight reel absurdity.

Sticky is a complete whinger but he can coach young guys to improve and be the best players they can be.

Something Spoony can only dream of.

Yep Chevy Stewart killing it, Trey Mooney has burst through as expected.

Did Puru leave to go to the Sharks. There were wraps on that kid.

What a superb solo try Weekes scored tonight against the Storm with 2 minutes to go, to take the game into golden point.

You can say what you want about Stuart, but I thoroughly respect his authenticity and the unwavering care and genuine respect he has for his players. I would be proud to have someone of his character coaching our team. His passion is unparalleled, and often comes across as 'having a whinge'. He knows the game well, and is only underrated outside of Canberra

Also, since this is a Kaeo Weekes thread, I was bloody stoked to see his match winner and wish him nothing but the best

A lot of people talk about Weekes’ highlights but never mention the fact he has as equally impressive lowlights reel

Watching Ricky in his rain coat in the pouring rain on the sidelines up close and personal with his players on the field typifies the Mans passion

But people will say other wise
Because no one will be liked by every one
And Ricky is Cool enough to know that
No skin off Rickies back

Not for me, thanks.
This is over 10 years old and no doubt he's had a few more 'passionate' moments since then.
The worst incident was when he was Kangaroo coach. Yes he's competitive but he's a bad sport.

He comes across as having a whinge because ... he sure does have a whinge!

He is the ultimate excuse maker, no doubt @BOZO has no respect for him
I do have a lot of Respect for Ricky
I have Respect for his Strengths as we all come with strengths and weaknesses . All Of Us
Rickies strengths and qualities Over ride his whinging excuses weakness
His Passionate win at all cost persona is a testament of him achieving Grand final wins both as player and as coach

Don't forget Metcalfe

Weekes has been below average this year but comes up with a great play every few games. No huge loss, gets rattled easily & has terrible hands at the back. He will certainly have a fun highlight real when his career is over though

Weekes had a shocker against us
Everything he touched turned to sht
But he has turned his game around sine then
Ricky seems to have faith in him and his persistence has paid off last week
The raiders coaches knows what he is capable of

It's been 22 years since he won a premiership with a star-studded team built by someone else ... he is certainly a good coach ... but 22 years is a long time between drinks.

I'd love Sticky as manly coach but it wouldn't fit he's a raiders through and through. How good would it be though seeing him jump up and down on the sidelines at Brookie 🙂
