Kangaroos Squad

I thought Tommy Turbo was ruled out a few weeks ago? What changed...?
He wasn't ruled out, just healed quickly :wait: In the Manly Daily article today about our Manly contingent in the Prime Minister's XIII team:
"Meanwhile Tom Trbojevic said he was ready to make his return to the field with the Kangaroos after suffering a fractured cheekbone in the final game of the season, against the Bulldogs. I'm sweet...it's coming along nicely. My face is normal again which is good, he said".

(Was the Broncos, not Bulldogs, but never mind about the facts 🙄)

Greg 1nglis loses the test captaincy and gets suspended for 2 games for drink driving. I have no problem with the punishment despite it happening in his private life. Unlike Snake's case where guilt or (ultimately) innocence had to be proven later, drink driving is proved pretty much straight away.

There is a prestigious image that goes along with being the Kangaroos test captain. An image they want to protect. And not many know that more than Mal Meninga who captained Australia in 23 tests.

But I think suspending 1nglis for that while not suspending Muster for deliberately kicking Manu in the head, is a huge double standard. Both should be on the sidelines, plain and simple.

Good message being sent. Don't drink drive, but kick someone in the head and you'll just get a slap on the wrist.

In the games biggest showcase, the grand final, you can kick someone in the head and not get suspended. Wow. What a bad look for the game.

That was not a kick, it was a love tap.
While it was wrong it wouldn't have knocked the icing sugar off a doughnut.

Look I've been kicked harder, but it was a kick to the head of a guy lying on the ground not expecting it.

It deserves a suspension. At what exact point does a kick to the head go from being acceptable to not acceptable?

The judiciary are kidding aren' they! First the Slater farce and now Munster Kick to the head. he should have got at least 2 weeks.

He says he doesn't want to be known as that type of player......yet every time things go against him on the field he spits the dummy.

He IS that type of player IMO and fits right in with the grubs in Melbourne.

Yep, IMO too...he's been trained by them and is carrying on their tradition.

Now I've just heard he's been rewarded as their Player of the Year! :tmi:

It was the intent, not the outcome. Should've got 4 weeks imo.
Another case of the NRL's flexibility when it comes to the interpretation of rules and punishments. Scott gets two weeks while Walker is sidelined for 2 months but, because no damage was done it's deemed a minor infringement. With the current consensus around concussion (and all blows to the head) I don't think anyone would seriously criticize the NRL for coming down hard on any sort of intentional contact to another players head but it is the complete lack of consistency around these rules is a making the game complete joke.
