Possibly the hip issue was the reason he has missed a few tackles in recent times. Going to be a very good signing for us. His old man was a tough, no nonsense forward as well. Looks like he is cut from the same cloth.

Kobe only has 1 or 2 games left, so hopefully the hip complaint can be rectified before the pre season starts in earnest in November.

Just caught up with Kobe at the golf club! What a top fella. Happy to have a yarn and really excited about coming to Manly. He asked if I was from the northern beaches and how I became a fan. Very focused on the game Sunday and making the GF. Seems very down to earth and happy to be coming and joining the pack. Which he described has having some decent size to it. We agreed Paseka and Guac were massive losses this year. Seems to love his golf as I’ve seen him round a bit from time to time but never bothered him for a chat. He’ll fit in well at Manly with a few of the golfing boys. Told him a lot of the diehards (us!) are stoked to have him arrive and are excited for the changes at the club. He seemed genuinely happy to hear that.

Virginia GC in Brisbane. See a few of the broncs and Dolphins players around from time to time. I assume mostly the ones who live nearby. Quite a few play at Nudgee GC as well.

Losing Tent (again) was the turning point of our season I reckon (much more then what happened a week or so later)

Its a contact sport, your gonna pick up injuries, and more so carry niggling injuries throughout the season. The fact he is still playing indicates its not serious but more uncomfortable. Things like hammies are completely different though due to the nature of them.

I'm struggling to understand why some people are calling him injury prone. If you have one injury that you are still managing to play through then you are not injury prone. Until this article how many people knew he was even managing the problem?
I'm just waiting for the first time he dislocates a finger playing for us, this place will have the pitchforks out for the recruitment team. "We should never have got him, he was already busted"
It's rugby league folks, players play with injuries to a certain extent for most of their careers

Not just hammies though… sauce was never the same after he did his first shoulder injury and tent changes his injuries up but he still can’t stay on the paddock…

Contact sport so it is gonna happen but some blokes are more susceptible than others and it can often be a snowball effect… as in once something goes you start to injure other muscles, tendons etc

look at Radley, Barnett, Kaufusi etc

I watched a replay of the raiders game and watched him closely. Not sure there is much to get over excited about. Probably like for like for Jazz, but certainly no more than that.

Had 2 tackle busts 25 tackles and just the 1 miss.

Not sure what you are expectting but thats a good stint.

I'll agree his impact is not as great currently to what I have seen of him previously.

Because of injury? I dont know.

But he is a workhorse, no frills and no nonsense, and that is what Manly lack.

He might miss out on the 17 with Carrigan due back, and Smoothy and Willason both having good games. He will be dead unlucky if that happens.

Edit: Was told this by a fanatical Broncos fan after the game today. He is usually across all things Broncos. He mentioned the injury management as being a real issue. Happy to wait and see where this ends up

Yea mate, the huge 39 metres from Smoothy will certainly leave Madge with a hard decision on who to drop… Talty with the big 31 run metres is also more likely to keep his spot over Hetherington right? 🤣

You seriously think Madge is going to drop the guy he has selected every week all season for a couple back ups that didn’t perform anywhere close to Hetherington’s level today?
