Harper is a goer. I don't think he's a first choice centre but he's decent depth.

I have no idea why Garrick is so desperate to play center? He scores tries by the bucket load out on the pretty boy edge. just needs to wait for turbo to do his thing and most of the time goes over untouched. doesn't have to run the brad parker death lines and is wont be paid any more money for having to tackle edge forwards..... what's the upside of him moving in there?

Maybe because he played all his junior football at centre & would like to prove to himself that he is capable of playing centre at the top level? If he feels he would be happier in the centres, he should be given an opportunity.
He got a taste of being more involved when filling in for Turbo. He enjoyed the extra responsibility and is hungry for more. Also added some $ to his contract. The wing can be a lonely place especially when you know you can add value closer to the ruck.

Weekes would be a good option, keeps the team relatively the same as previous weeks, has spark and speed and could definitely create points. If Croker is back then Lawton to 14, other wise maybe Lawton to start, Gordy to come off bench? ( not sure if he is in top 30 yet, but with the release of the Alec and Villi surely he takes that spot??
I'm with you. I recall some games in 2021 and 2022 Harper was one of our better players and even earned our MVP points. Yet he's being stigmatised for that Sharks game thanks to the after-effects of Covid.
He can only be as good as the players around him and playing for Blacktown wouldn't do a lot for him. Imo he deserves another chance and the Knights game is an ideal one for him.

Centre is one of the trickiest positions to defend these days, so it would be quite a gamble to pick someone not used to playing there. The other options probably involve weakening another spot to try to cover centre. Interesting choice.
