Eels v Sea Eagles

Jarryd Hayne was cleared to play yesterday. Glenn Stewart is no chance of an early return.

Our toyota cup team can beat them.

I disagree. I hate to be negative but i think the eels are going to hard to beat. We are not exactly carving sides up ourselves.

Parramatta are due for a win and with Hindmarsh announcing he is leaving they will lift. I hope it doesn't happen as I can't see us lose 3 on the trot either and this game will kick start our season.

4.15 into 3.25 with the bookies.Hindy retiring.Hayne back and those no look passes seem to hit their mark against us.This will be a tough game.It would seem inconceivable that an NRL side would not have the right attitude this week given what they have copped.I expect us to fall in by a few points but couldnt take the 1.30.

Their defence is rubbish and that can't be fixed in a week, the only way they can win is if hayne and Sandow click and fire.

... and Hayne is not even 100%. Do you reckon he will hold back and try to run the knee into the game, not stretching out on it and risk reigniting the old injury? That has got to be playing in the back of his mind.

Storm vs. Knights

Widdop is in doubt, was in moon boot earlier in week is rated 50/50 to play, if Widdop is out, look for Kostjasyen to come into the 5/8 role. Knights have travelled down with 18 Man Squad, officially they are saying Hilder will drop off after being hooked last week. Uate will return from hip flexor injury and look for McKinnion to start with Costigan to go back to bench with Houston to play tight.

Broncos vs. Dragons

Hoffman is in doubt with ankle injury, couldn’t finish training during week if out, look for Gagai to wing with Beale to FB. Mitch Rein is doubtful with Jake Marke to travelling as 18th man. JDB is expected to play with Nathan Green added as 18th Man for injured Josh Miller.

Panthers vs. Sharks

Mills is in doubt with hamstring injury look for M.Wright to come in for him, Gardner is also in doubt due to concussion if he is out, look for Carney to switch to FB with Graham or Townsend to come into halves. Grant trained on Thursday, he needs to pull up pain free and train on Friday and if does will play with Robinson and Austin/Simpkins orAchurch to drop off the bench. McKendry is also in doubt with sternum/chest injury, played last week with strapping on sternum. Also Townsend cracked his sternum and is currently out injured. I will be getting info through day as to whether Gardner/Grant are playing or not once I know I will post

Eels vs. Sea Eagles

Big News in Eels territory with the announcement of Nathan Hindmarsh’s retirement at end of season. After a 0-4 start to Kearney has decided to switch up the team with Hindy and Mannah set to split time at prop, Fui Fui moving to left edge as 2RF and Lasolo to play tight. I doubt E.Tonga will play due to hamstring injury with Morgan his likely replacement if out. Also in other Eels news Loko is hoping to return by end of the season. Manly will be 1-17 but Foran has been playing injured for last few weeks and Lyon is in doubt with elbow injury.

Roosters vs. Warriors

I believe Hurrell will come into 17 for Vatuvei who will be out with hamstring injury. Locke needs to pass fitness test on Friday and if he fails Fisihaii will replace him at FB. Smith said last night on radio that Moga was 2-3 weeks away but I am lead to believe Symonds looks set to be dropped with Moga to make debut with Aubusson to play 2RF. Mortimer will join Symonds playing for the Blue Bags with Mitchell set to come onto bench. I will be getting info through day as to whether Locke is playing or not once I know I will post

Titans vsBulldogs

Look for Idris to return, replacing Michaels in CTW. Myles got a head cut last week and is in doubt but will play. Also Prince may play after not being named due to a bicep injury, if that is the case look for Thompson or O’Dwyer to drop out of the 17. Bulldogs will be 1-17 again with Finucane travelling as 18th man

Tigersvs Rabbitohs

Benji will play after coping head knocks in the last 2 weeks. The word is Galloway was set to return but doctors have ruled him out look for him to return next week with Farah against Broncos on Good Friday. Miller has a groin injury which is why wasn’t named. Tigers to be 1-17. Geddes has said he will be sweet for this week, but if he is out, look for Burgess to move to FRF with Taylor to start. I hope to have Tigers team during day, once I know will post.
Raiders vsCowboys

Shillington is rated 50/50 to play but he won’t play with Raiders to welcome Tilse back into squad. Papali will play after the quad injury last week. Kennedy will be 18th man again. Cowboys have a few issues; Winterstein is highly unlikely to play with KFFL to come onto wing. A.Sims is with doubt with a toe injury but he will play. T.Sims is reported to be travelling with the squad and may make his return from bench this week. Also JT has spent extra time this week practising his goal kicking; he has been filthy with himself with his start to season with boot and his own form.

Considering how good this blokes late mail has been so far this season, it wouldn't surprise me if Bob Fulton put the boots on for us tonight.

Struggling Hindmarsh faces less minutes at prop

PARRAMATTA stalwart Nathan Hindmarsh might have survived a challenge to his captaincy but his role as on-field leader could still be reduced with plans in place to start him in the front row and reduce his time on the field against Manly on Saturday night.

The Australian understands that coach Stephen Kearney is planning to field a different looking team against the Sea Eagles to the one he named on Tuesday in a desperate attempt to ignite the Eels' season and end a four-match losing streak.

It is understood the new-look team was discussed at a seven-hour board meeting on Tuesday night in which Kearney and his coaching staff fronted directors to inform them of the measures they were taking to turn things around.

"He just gave an overview of what's happened from month to month and obviously, with the disappointing start to the season, was just trying to focus on getting it back on track," Eels chief executive Bob Bentley said yesterday.

"He hasn't discussed (this week's team) with me. You'd probably have to ask him.

"All those decisions are left to him so it's up to him who he runs out there on game day. He's probably got to do something to make them click and perform on the field.

"Everyone is saying we're in crisis but we're just trying to win a footy game and take it week by week.

"Let's hope we can turn it around with a win on Saturday night."

The Australian reported this week that the out-of-form Hindmarsh could be temporarily relieved of the captaincy in favour of fullback Jarryd Hayne but it is believed this received little support at the meeting.

Hindmarsh has been regarded as something of an ironman in the NRL because he is a backrower who can play 80 minutes, but his time on the field has come down in the last two heavy losses to North Queensland and Penrith. He managed only 46 minutes against the Cowboys (in his defence, he was still recovering from a virus that had forced him to miss the round-two match against the Warriors) and played 66 minutes of last Friday night's match against the Panthers.

Cronulla lock Paul Gallen has shown it is possible to last 80 minutes in the front row after his heroic shift to that position for NSW in last year's State of Origin series, but it is believed Hindmarsh will be given a spell on

the bench after the opening 20 minutes.

Other changes to the forward pack are expected to involve Fuifui Moimoi and Reni Maitua starting in the backrow while NSW prop Tim Mannah could be the one to make way for Hindmarsh in the front row and start the match off the bench.

Mannah is expected to assume the captaincy when he replaces Hindmarsh on the field.

Hindmarsh's move is seen only as a stop-gap measure for this season.

The tide has changed with the announcement from Hindy.
Expect a massive forst 15 minutes from parra, they will then fade away.
