I don't think he's in the Top 30 at all. Pretty sure Seibold said he's on a supplementary deal this year, then probably Top 30 next year.

I've made my thoughts on Lodge pretty clear; I am disappointed to see him sign on for 25'. However, he is on a part-time deal so there's very little downside for the club. If he fails to fire, we've lost nothing. If he comes good, we've jagged a bargain.

Agree with all of that except the last line... we have had very low standards and p*ss poor leadership in the back office for a very looong time...

Do yourselves a favour and listen to James Graham’s podcast with Matt Lodge.

The guy deserves a second chance and you can’t begrudge him for looking for a better deal than the one he was originally offered. At the end of the day, he has a young family to look after and rightly so that should be his number one priority.
Also, if Jake Trbojevic backs his character then that’s good enough for me.

I have the personal feeling based on nothing than his past performance and behvaoiour that he is a fxckwit but he isn't costing us much and if people like Jake, Turbo and DCE back him then let's hope we see what they see in him.

We all know his past and most on here have a dislike for him because of it and I agree.
However in my opinion if fires in 2025 I think we are chance at the top 4 and maybe a shot at the Big Dance!
He makes us a different side and brings intimidation which we lack big time.

Relax man, it's just a footy player on a part-time deal. You should be happy he is fighting in March because you don't like him and he is going to get punched in the head. We're not turncoats, we're just adults with regulated emotions.

Can "t see any real downsides with this new arrangement .
Not much different really with Arron Woods previous contract deal and relative connection with the main squad .
Going to be a pretty fair Manly reserve grade pack if Lodge can find a bit of form and guys like James and Matterson can lift a bit and not taking into account the likes of Patolo , Taukeiaho , Chee Kam and so on

That game was over the moment Jake got KO'd, our forwards never recovered.

Having a guy who can hold his own against the best NRL props playing reserve grade at bargain basement prices has much more upside than downside.

I suspect he'll end up being very important for our prop depth later in the season.
