Two or three bad injuries over a year is basically a given for every team. Can hardly say Aloia is a champion. He is normally bagged on here every second week.
He is ok but if a side can’t handle losing a good prop and an average first grader in the pack then it probably shows exactly where we are at.
And Ola has just gone missing now , so that can’t be part of the excuse.
Other than Turbot ( whose replacement is fantastic) our halves and three quarters have been available all year.
Our3 or 4 wingers are much of a muchness so can’t say a few weeks out with a couple of them is any excuse.
Standard NRL injury year and no worse than most other teams.
Nothing like some of the really bad injury years we’ve had in last decade.
Relevant points but should have put more emphasis on the salary cap factor in that with Manly "s
top grouping high earners in D C E , Turbo , Jake and Haumole , only Haumole regularly providing real money for value .
Just don 't think that any other club that has invested similar outlays for a top grouping of playing personal and particularly in recent times has experienced 3 out of 4 literally performing well below a required level apart from availability factors .
And then compounded with the ability to bring in a bit of quality with depth as just don "t have the cap space then or an effective junior production line for some obvious reasons
Again on the injury front , Turbo , Paseka, Haumole and Alioia are pretty big outs for whatever individual longer term stints when trying to get a season long competitive sequence going
Alioia has had an appalling record with availability and consistent form and not a good situation but, one of the few current Manly available forwards who can make some decent impact when fit and able .
Maybe not on 600 K any more but still taking a decent chunk of the cap .
Brooks on some 600 - 650 K , well down [ certainly in attack ] from his 2004 level
Koula , Lehi , Garrick , Saab even Talau can be top liners if given some decent opportunity and not playing off a struggling forward lineup
Probably most recent example of a Manly side in danger of getting the spoon was 2018 and not unlike this season , had a bad run with injuries but a couple of other lower ranked sides struggling even more to just avoid it .
This season , just do not have that luxury [ or part ] and has to be a bit of a concern to being able to avoid it right now
