Our defense wasnt that good, they scored 20.

We are turning into one of those teams that win by simply out scoring rather than doing what we did last year and beating every team all over the field

we'll struggle to do that seeing that we have one of the worst attacks (by stats) in the comp

Just booked in for the titans function/game hopefully see ya all again for those of you that made it up here for the donkeys game.

And those that didn't definitley do it next year

I thought it was great, 3 of the 4 tries were the results of bombs, which are really a lottery and at times undefendable. If we look at them, Matai had no chance against Folau, but Bani could have done better. In both Winterstein tries, he had the forward momentum which always gives him the advantage there as well.

Having said all that, Lockyer and Folau locked dangerous with nearly every touch

On the Bani try, I thought it was ok, but Bani's poor positioning made it look a bit dodgy. He had over run matai a touch, and had to stop and reach back a little bit to take the ball

20 points doesnt say luck. We were lucky to get 22 to be honest.

Making excuses like bombs and stuff wont win us too many games. Lets face it, things were fair at best in that performance yesterday

I didn't say luck either, just that all they had to score against us yesterday was bombs. That would suggest that our ground defence was spot on imo, especially with so much of it close to our goal line

Some days you will defend damn well, and the other side will have a bloke or 2 that is awesome in the air, and they get points from it. That won't be happening every week against us.

When you talk of 50/50 balls and them getting it, its either luck or bad defense.

I vote we didn't defend as well as we use to. Every game has reminded me of that Panthers game that kept us out of the 8 all those years ago when we were still the Beagles I think. We had the game won at half time, then got beaten, pretty badly

The point I am attempting to make is that sometimes they are not a 50/50 ball, for example, Matt Utai or Hazem El Masri will find it impossible to outjump Israel Folau for a perfectly placed bomb, it is not really a defensive fault of the side, just 1 of those things that you can't defend against. Could make 5 perfect tackles, defend your line well then they hoist something up and it is all over. The Roosters were specialists at it early last season, but once that well dried up they battled

I remember that game you mention, terrible day, 68-28 from memory

It wasn't our greatest ever defensive display yesterday, nobody would dispute that, but it was still pretty good. They only scored 1 try from a genuine line break that showed up our defence, which was pleasing for me

Game won at half time? Alzheimers alert. We were down by at least 16 at half time.

And to say our defence now reminds you of that rubbish back then? Lay off the juice.

we lost 68-28

Sharp said 4 or 5 choice words at half time and left.

Think the score may of been around 36-12 at HT.

thats a different game than I am thinking of.

The year before the Panthers won the comp. We had a game at Brookie oval. It was the last game of the season. If we won the game we would have made the 8 (depending on if another team lost, which they did) and we were up like 26 - 6 at half time I think. And then we lost it but like 38 - 26 or something ridiculous.

Im pretty sure we went in ahead at half time, because i remember having a "discussion" with an inbred Panther supporter, who started giving it to me on the way out, until I reminded them they still lived in Penrith

the 68-28 game is the one you are thinking of.

although we were WAY behind at half time. I then sat in my car listening to Dragons/Knights game to see if we could get through on default......obviously the wrong team won

all from kicks!

i know that is still part of the game, but there points came from kicks which is the way most teams had to score against us back in 07
