First Grader
Was hoping that type of more open footy should have been the norm for a few weeks now , barring that wet condition match against the Roosters
Phins have been largely doing it for most of the season apparently and for good results with a couple of other sides and with a weakened forward lineup , sure it would have benefited Manly more in recent times also
That was hardly a slow Phins side and of course had a few noted quick guys but Manly just out sped and outplayed them as far as the attacking department is concerned
Defence another consideration but hard to please if not impressed with some terrific Manly tries yesterday
Not his best game last week but Turbo was just showing some signs of more free running and certainly came to the fore again yesterday apart from some off his deft selective passing
Koula , Lehi big games , D C E mainly showing the touches that has made him a valuable player on his better days , ' Brooksie more free running and confident
Navale did look good, plenty of good leg drive and game awareness , T K O , Bully and particularly Turbo and Simpkin really contributing well when it mattered
Had a bit of a laugh when Toff Sipley had his little burst , not in a sarcastic way but encouragement as while hardly getting many previous opportunities , does have a bit of early dash and Kotoa their speedy half had to actually gather a bit of stride to run him down
Shame that Ola is out for the season , and with Paseka "s possible availability if Manly could as an outside chance make the play offs
As combined with him , would really boost the forward stocks of course and Manly with the right settings and playing style , still can be one of the better attacking units going around
Defence is another matter and would need Jake back fit and well to try and help in that department
Probably would have been inclined to bring Schoupp on for Waddell as he looked to be getting a bit fatigued in the latter stages but Talau may still be having injury issues
May have a decent shot against the Dragons , Wahs could be a tough assignment , only seen them briefly this season but even with a couple of key outs , look a quick solid and athletic side this year
