Overall it was a pretty great all round performance.

Only slight knocks were were the error count at 14. Have to improve that but 1st game of the year so no doubt we will. And Paulo who didn't have a great game. I wont pile on though, first game for us and a big intimidating stage. Give him the chance to bounce back in round 2.

looks like I spoke to soon wasn’t expecting that just wasn’t getting the vibe from the guys leading up…still think Paula is average lol..but good to see some resilience from the team
Paulo looks like he is either stoned or scared. Aside from Saab injury the only negative to come out of the game. No urgency, very disappointing.

Schu doesn't need to be on the bench either. I want to see workers on our bench any of Brown, Lodge , Bullemore, Lawton , Waddell or Ben T.

I won’t pile on either but he needs to put his body on the line ie the Gagai try - and learn to keep up with play, he should have been at least a metre further forward and run on to the Brooke’s pass - he needs to show why he got the nod - I’d put Clayton F, or Parker or Talau into the centres and Ruben back on the wing

Very pleasantly surprised by the composure & determination shown by Manly, especially after Souths came out & scored 2 in quick succession after half time.

Burbo has arrived, Brooks is unleashed, Turbo is healthy & Brown provides Jurbo good cover at lock.

Only downer was Paulo - he looked out of place - & Saab doing his hammy.

Game management was on point mate, huh.

A lot of those errors were bombing tries though... If it wasn't for Rd 1 cobwebs we could have put an easy 50 on

I agree but dont think you drop a player after 1 bad performance. Give him a chance to bounce back.

Also wouldn't snap Garrick straight back to the wing, that wastes a whole off season.

If Paulo doesnt improve I'd look at Talau, Veaga or Faulalo on the wing.

Hope Saab is alright. Or else we will have to learn how to love Paulo... Thought he was probably our worst tonight, Paulo. Just didn't put his body on the line. But you could say Saab did, and he's done his hammy as a result. Either way, how do we replace Saab? Bring in Talau and push Garrick back to wing? Personally I thought Garrick was excellent at centre tonight. Just hope Saab isn't off for long.
Yep, when you compare the passion Ray plays with, Paulo was ordinary.

I think Faulalo was the most impressive of the 3 in pre season. He's a natural try scorer. I'd put him in on wing for Saab.

For mine out of today, while the win was good ... the impact from our forwards wasn't so good.

Haumole with 180 and Brown with 110 were the only Manly forwards with over 100 run metres. Next were Paseka (82) and Jake (81).

Post Contact Metres saw 95 for Olakau'atu, 44 for Paseka, 35 for Brown and 28 for Aloiai. Jake again doesn't make a lot of PCM's, only pushing on for 19.

Saab ran for 248. Turbo for 221, Garrick for 214.
