Manly v Rorters - Round 19, 2018 Pre-Game

Spot on.

Focus the attacking play on a bloke playing his second game in the halves, rather than an Origin and a
Aust rep half.

Barrett picks Wright (which many have been calling for for weeks).

Now they have it, lets let the bloke run the team after 2 games.

The hits just keep on coming.

Your cynicism would be more justified if Manly was winning games and like Thurston of old, , DCE was the go to man. That may be so in many ways but one of the problems with Manly is predictability. In a game just recently they had T. Wright getting cold on one side of the field, while continuously attacking to the left. It was so predictable even I could see players waiting to drag Kelly over the side line. It was bleeding obvious, yet they kept doing it. Two things of importance here. First Manly needs to play both sides of the field and be less predictable. Where's the Nappa/Beaver like plays etc. Secondly how is T. Wright going to show his wares if the ball isn't coming to him with a bit of room to move. Are we so scared by the unavailability of Walker, that the team isn't willing to try to be more creative and use the full field in attack.

Without Walks in the side, most of our attack has gone to the left. When he's there the ball does go right, pardon the pun.

I cannot fathom or comprehend how Matt Wright in any way could be knowingly selected over Taufua?

01. Tom Trbojevic
02. Jorge Taufua
03. Brian Kelly
04. Tom Wright
05. Moses Suli
06. Trent Hodkinson
07. Daly Cherry-Evans

should be our backline. No Wright / Parker.

Then when Walker gets back, Wright goes to 5/8, Hodko back to 14.

Tom cant play right side all our attack is left side. His runs out of dummy half while in the opposition Red Zone stifles our attack

And yet in Origin he was on the right wing and although he was more roving in attack than just staying out wide.....he was arguably the player of the series.

I just think he needs to start running straighter. Crabbing sideways like he tends to often leaves Kelly no room if he gets the ball.

Wow, quite a lot of the team started in Jersey Flegg or NSW Cup to start the year

Worst part? Our NSW Cup team is pretty ordinary.
