I was surprised when people started looking ahead to the Cowboys game, as if we'd already won this game simply because we were playing at home. Cronulla were awful in Perth and we couldn't beat them there. The chances of them playing any worse and us playing any better were never high.

Players for player, position for position, they are better than us. They have an excellent pack and a smart dummy half. Their halves can be rocks and diamonds, but then again, so can ours. Strong centres, good wingers, and Kennedy at the back. Sure, he's not as good as 2021 Turbo, but neither is 2025 Turbo. For us to compete, we had to be at our best. And we were not.

Well, that was rough. Really rough. Team looked so lifeless it was bizarre. Time to drop the “Fear the Fortress” BS, I don’t think anyone is fearing playing here anymore after 3 straight losses. What a joke. DCE has played ONE half decent game since his announcement, shocking to absolutely nobody we won that game he was half decent in. Amazing what your halfback putting in effort does.

I’m not even going to get mad at Seibold, he picked the team we all wanted aside from Waddell.

Gonna need some serious discussions with Jurbo about if he should be in this team anymore. I love the guy but he does absolutely nothing in attack and our forwards really struggle in attack to get anything going, we rely on opposition errors and penalties to get up field now. He’s not the only one, but it’s really noticeable when our forwards looked better without him there 2 weeks ago. Speaking of the Trbojevic’s, Tommy was super quiet today, clearly not 100% and was very reluctant to just get involved at times. He only does that if he’s not well.

Koula did his thing, unfortunately we just don’t get him involved enough. Looks good when we do, but for whatever reason that doesn’t seem to be the game plan. Our left edge throws it around but looks so unthreatening it’s wild, meanwhile the right edge throws it around and drops it.

That’s 2 home games straight we go down 14-0, make the big comeback and then throw it away. It’s like we need to go down by a big lead to realise we should start playing, but unfortunately it’s too late by that point. If the team aren’t up for it big time next week, it’ll really show how the attitude of the boys is at the moment.

It’s not even that painful anymore though, like I’m always annoyed at a performance like that but I said after that round 2 loss by 20 to the Wahs when we were being talked about as premiership contenders all week in the lead up that we were zero chance of doing anything big this year. When you know this team well and have watched them in recent years, that is enough to confirm it. Even after our big wins I knew it wouldn’t equate to much in the long run this year. Just how the team is now. Attitude is gone, there’s zero desire to get up for home games anymore.

Dunno where we go from here, maybe scrape into the 8 still? We just look worse than last year, which really sucks. Last year we competed in every loss bar the last 2, this year we are being torn apart frequently and having to try and make a comeback which falls short. Will always look forward to watching us play, but this year has a weird feeling for me, almost like I just know win or loss the end game will always be another year of wasted potential. Team is great, premiership material. Attitude is awful though, has been at times for years but this year recently I’m seeing it more than usual.

Hope they can prove me wrong but we’ve all watched this movie many times before 🤷‍♂️

We have Wayne Bennet Beating the Broncos with half his first graders out
And Seibold failing to win this game with his team fresh from a weeks break and on our home ground.
Copy and paste this and Give it to me Big Time if I am wrong
But we are not going to Win any Premiership with Seibold
No chance whatsoever. Very sad state of affairs right now.

We were coming off a 15 day break, playing against a side who have had an absolutely horrible schedule. In front of a sold out Brookie, with wives and many past legends present, they dish up that rubbish. Why can't the coach get the team fired up and ready to rumble?

He had all the resources at his disposal at the Broncos and landed them with their first spoon.

He won nothing coaching Qld Cup. Demetriou always bettered him in that comp.

He made a prelim with a fully fit Bunnies squad. Bennett almost won a GF the following year without Trell in the team.

He will never win a Premiership in the NRL

Give me Neil Henry any day over this guy.

DCE has infected the team his whole effort defined by that jumper grab miss, the sooner he leave the better along with half a dozen more and the coach, too many years of the same crap and mediocre results,
The fans deserve better…need to rebuild and reset ,
Manly were a mess!

Tried hard but some poor decisions, some poor passes, just didn't look confident or ,dare I say the buzz word, 'connected'.

DCE is either playing injured or, or, or I don't know what the problem is. He's often done the poor passes but I can't recall him ever playing so poorly, especially he looked to avoid contact in defence whereas he's always been an effective defender for a smaller player.

Tempting to put it down to DCE's situation sapping the squad of confidence or at least proving too much of a distraction. I hope that's not the case but something doesn't look right, to my untrained eye.

I'd be shipping him off to the Chickens and using whatever is left from his salary to front load a contract or two.

Watch Erin Clarke play every week. Warriors got him for nothing after he left a few years ago. They now have an elite 13 and it shows in their results. You could see his ability in a **** Titans side. There are players out there if you can identify them , which is why the Storm is the benchmark.
.
We recruit old cast offs with a comp wide known ceiling ; not even an attempt to identify young hungry guys who won’t break the bank and cost the same as these known plodders. Outside of Grant Nelson and Stefanie the Storm pack and bench consists of multiple guys who came cheap and had the right mindset.

This is the area that is killing us … this craven desire for experience rather than punting on potential. Let’s face it , could young eager kids go worse than the conga line of geriatrics we employed over last few years - it’s farcical. It defies logic.
That’s the thing right even if we did get these young hungry guys in do we have the right coaching staff to help them along

Clark has been very good but let’s see how he goes as the season goes on or yr 2 of his contract.3 year deals normally go this way-1st yr is a very good season as they’re trying to impress his new bosses,2nd yr is a dud and 3rd year is some good to try and get a new deal but mainly ordinary. Its the Justin Horo phenomenon

Doubt they'd want him.
Worse was Seibold's demeanour at the presser. I'm normally a supporter of Seibold but his body language seemed defeated, as though he might know what the problem is but doesn't see a solution.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it because of disappointment, not at losing (well yes, at losing, but in particular at how badly Manly played)

Thanks for the win for my Mother's Day...NOT. Very disappointing and what makes it worse is it was at Brookie and we should've been fresh from the week off.

Had the perfect chance to come out in the second half and get a win (similar to the rabbits and dogs) but no, we blew it. So much for the Manly Way...

He’s not that type of player.. he’s a competitor , loved the tough stuff and has skills … I’ll bet he won’t drop off , not in his DNA
But I suppose my main point is there are players out there with value who are not wel ivef over 30 and on the slide
Storm proved it every year … the other issue is can Sienold mould young guys .., my guess is NO but it needs to be tried

Faulalo having 0 minutes is a real stuff up. Why are we wasting a bench spot when our forwards are not competing at all right now? I understand it’s back up if our backs go down, but Burbo can play centre if that happens. We can’t afford to play with a 3 man bench right now
Once is a mistake and should learn from it,but this was the 2nd time Seibold has done this so I’d suggest he has no idea

If Turbo didn’t have his injuries problems I believe we would have won a comp.
Jurbo is a great defender but offers little in attack we need a ball playing lock like Dylan Walker.
Burbo has got no footwork and gets smashed nearly every run

DCE should be replaced as captain and during Origin we should blood one of our young halves and if he’s looks good stick with him and let DCE GO

We need buy one good prop, a ball playing lock and another second rower with footwork
Just think about all the good young halves/five eights we have let go whilst DCE has been at the club - Hynes, Tom Wright, weekes, walker, metcalf, Humphreys, fainu. Depressing.

They play with power, running hard and with purpose. They also look well drilled and well coached. We, on the other hand..

He’s halfway there. He picked the team list we all wanted, just messed up the bench big time. We don’t have much to work with clearly if Waddell is being picked, but hopefully he realises that playing a 3 man bench was not the move (he won’t, Talau will be named at 14)
