Oh well...
Not a good result.
Team really out of sorts and not hungry enough.
Still can't believe that last gummie try was awarded. Specsavers visit for that ref.

On what basis? That he came on in the last ten mins and had some energy when the game was all over? Nobody was complaining about Croker this time last week. I agree he wasn’t great tonight but he wasn’t the only one.

I was complaining since he was picked
really not good enough

there Was a reason that Canberra would be happy to let a bloke named Croker go

fair enough we had to bargain basement shop because of our cap issues but he is a very poor excuse for an NRL player

ask yourself this how many other teams does he get picked in?

Sharks also deliberately and blatantly gave away 6 agains on our first tackle, giving plenty of time to set their defensive line and pin us down.

Set after set after set... when does that warrant a penalty or even a sin binning?
Spot on and when obvious as we all seen - a warning- then 10 in the bin

Anyone shared the stat .....manly have the worst win % when Adam Gee is referee.
30% when he is ref. At the same time we win 57% of our games.
how is that for a statistical anomaly that needs explaining.
He was actually smiling when the sharks scored their last. I've actually never seen that before.

Players can’t play well every week. Croker was fine last week. Our big issue this week was putting our very sound winger to FB ahead of a player who filled in fine there last week. Jack should be dropped for Boyle or Shipley if fit imo. And where was keppie after the first 20 when Marty came in? Seemed like he didn’t come back in.

marty isn’t what he was a few years ago, think he is A little living on reputation

afb has passed him and then some

If we have limited attack, all the more reason to have a rock solid defence.
No way, how long can we keep it up for though. You can’t keep defending all year only. It doesn’t work like that mate. Without dishing it out properly we will just be playing catch up footy. No way mate. Our defence has been great all year until now and most of our wins we have played catch up.

A few of us have said it, but the reality is that yes the team, especially DCE, seems to play a lot better when Levi is not on the field.

Yes his passing from dummy half is good in that its crisp and clean. But he has a very bad habit of either passing to the wrong player, especially on the 4th and 5th tackles, or he seems to pick the wrong time to take his 5 metre darts. At times when we have a chance out wide and passing is needed, he often decides its a good time to run.

There is no point whinging about letting Api go or the legal trouble Fainu has gotten himself into (or his shoulder). But the reality is that a lot of our problem in attack seems to start with the dummy half play from Danny Levi. Hopefully when Walker comes back (or Des plays someone else such as Schuster), Croker and Cust can do the dummy half role because right now Levi is a liability.

It's not a lie, if you believe it.

That was just hard to watch.

I have to agree with much of what has been said.

Elliot is a better option than Garrick at the back.
Cust added something but came on when the opposition were tired and had put the cue in the rack so I'll reserve judgement.
The two main points though.

DCE is supposed to be the leader and we can't build pressure if he can't get repeat sets. His short kicking game has been Z-grade of late. He was very average tonight overall and I hope he's disappointed in his performance.

I actually though Paseka showed promise 2 weeks ago. But that was utter rubbish tonight. He slows down when he gets to the defence. WTF ? If he had Keppie's mongrel, he'd be unstoppable.

On a non-Manly issue, what's doing with the set restart on tackle 1 ? Blow a penalty. I'm sure the team with the ball would prefer it.

i think we are a pretty slow side

Jorge, Elliot, Suli, Croker, Parker, Levi DCE you name them we just have limited speed.

we desperately need some speed in the side

Granted Croker was great last week and others were also poor this week.
But you need to frame it like this. Croker has had bad luck after bad luck, this was his chance to stand up and impress everyone. How few opportunities do you get in a lifetime. In Crookers shoes tonight most would have been giving it a red hot go and probably over playing their hands he didn't he went in the polar opposite direction

well, he did create a couple of good tries, i just think he gets poor service from his hooker and 5/8, and he looks outside and sees a flat footed garrick or Elliot. You cannot be effective if you hooker has no footy smarts and goes the wrong way or gives you poor passes with players on you, or you 5/8 plays in slow motion.
Yeah he did but he He only got involved when the game was dead and gone.. He stepped up with ball in hand first ten mins of game in their red zone.. a few average grabbers then just shiedaway and was just was a passenger from there on in letting Croker orchestrate with the ball. He is the money man he needs have more influence on our game. It's really disappointing the things he dishes up at times. I agree with your point on levi though.

Yep, too right. We are lethargic at times and over desperate. We make too many errors playing the ball.Simple stuff ups. Can not do the basics right and in this game today there is no room for error. We had no urgency for the ball today until it was too late.Going by last weeks performance I had us killing them today but I was totally wrong. We can’t keep relying on Turbo. We have the players but des needs to sort this out.

Post match conference
Des ...Very disappointed....When you score 24 points that is enough to win a game of footy . Really disappointed the 40 we let in
The big effort against Canberra is not an excuse for what happened today
The Sharks played with more intensity and we missed far too many tackles
Brendon Elliott played well in the centrs last week and Rubin Garrick had the speed to make the impact from fullback was the reason for the positional change
Crockers performance at 5/8 was ok
Tom Turbos loss is not an excuse we were just not proficient enough . Without Tom we scored 24 points it was our overall intensity and poor defence that let us down
