Is it wrong to be cheering for the Tigers and Souths in the next two weeks,just to get closer to a Seibold exit?Given how close the comp is,losses in those 2 games,may not spell the end of the season and a fresh,less gruff voice in the dressing rooms could make a difference

The last time Seibold left a club mid-season, they still lost the next 7 games in a row AND secured the wooden spoon in the final round.

How confident is anyone that this squad, with the current squad makeup, injury toll, and captain/leader who has publicly telegraphed that he doesn't want to be here anymore, will do any better with a different person talking to them in the sheds?

Yes in every sense of the word.

As I said to some numbnuts a couple of weeks ago on X ... being the only pre-1982 expansion club not to get the wooden spoon is a sense of pride for Manly and its fans.

The First Grade spoon has never made its way to Manly, and we don't want it to start now. Losing to the Tigers and Souths would go a LONG way to making the spoon a possibility.....

I understand what you are saying however the club has a part to play. IF it is as much of a distraction and sign if disrespect that everyone is saying then why is Siebold letting it continue? Why doesn't he take the captaincy off DCE? What has he got to lose as he is already staring into being sacked (or so the media is saying). So is it a beat up? Is Siebold too soft (he moved TT this week) or all of the above.

Also why does it matter where he is going? Do we seriously believe that once he announces he is going to the Roosters that we will all respect him and the team will start playing better? I think it has more to do with our roster than where DCE is going.

Sure there is no doubt from the playing group how critical tomorrow night "s result is , so sufficient motivation should not be an issue .
Just how to get a competitive edge back to a winning level will be the real test of course .
Bula is a big out for the Tigers but the remaining backline is still pretty handy as is their general forward line up so if ever a backs to the wall effort was required , this one certainly counts for Manly .
Lodge does not have to play big minutes but just do a good enough job with go forward in particular to play a helpful role .
Tigers may well try and revert to a bit of a razzle dazzle style and very important for Manly to just hold their line and make every tackle count including wrapping the ball up
so much will probably depend on a good kicking game as well to restrict the Tiger"s ability to pose attacking threats closer to the Manly red zone .
Side has really lifted when it has really mattered and largely held their game together in other matches in 25 involving a bit adversity ,
Guess also much will depend on D C E , Brooks and even Turbo being so much better and the hope that maybe , just maybe the partly depleted pack will be able to hang in there sufficiently to give the side some decent chance
