I think he means one post signing a lifetime deal as allegedly the best halfback in the game.

We'll look kind of silly if we come up with nothing to show for an 8 year contract for the highest paid player in the comp. Put a lot of eggs in that basket, be nice to get something other than an omelette. We are 5 years into our 8 year plan and we haven't cracked top 4 yet. In fact we have missed the finals 3 out of the 5 seasons. His form this year as a player and a leader has been crap. Sure he tries hard, that's awesome. Someone pays me $1mil I'll try my guts out too. I think it was a mistake to sign him to a deal that long, and we still have 3 years to run on it.

I agree with original post, I don't think DCE is the player to deliver us a premiership.

So been home for a while now

I just don't know where to begin but I will say this that I have never ever felt so flat after today. It's like the whole club has just given up, staff, players and management.

I have never seen such a piss weak effort from a manly team.

Never felt so embarrassed to support manly warringah sea eagles than I do now.

I have one personal record which was not broken today, the only home game at brookvaIe could not get tickets to was the parra game and we won, so i have gone a whole season seeing us not win at home live , thats so disheartening.

The only bright spot the news just coming in that turbo has not done as serious shoulder injury as he could have.

What a disheartening day for all manly fans and members.

Watching the rorters/sharks game and the way most players from both teams just run full bolt every time they have the ball, and we are well into the 2nd half. I can’t remember the last time any of our players bit the ball up like that, even at the start of a game. We are doing something very wrong to be so unfit

This. It's embarrassing that we even have to talk about affording players to make him look better. People seem to be happy paying 1.2M/year for a player who gives more ball possession to the opposition than his own team

You do not pay 1.2M/year for a player to simply TRY. It's not effort money, it's performance money.

And i think thats why des could be going for foran..its the only time dce played consistently well..and des is desperate to get his moneys worth out of the giraffe neck with ellens head

Agreed. And IMO, Foran is the only player addition that could make DCE look worthwhile in the current circumstances (taking into account DCE's flaws, Foran's potential, and the finances).

I wouldn’t blame Haumole if he didn’t turn up. The coach playing two blokes in your position who are pissing off to the Dogs. Wouldn’t surprise me if his manager doesn’t try the "compassionate grounds" excuse as well.

Haumole was at the ground as 18th man. He is a close friend of Fainu (as are Suli & Funa), who, hopefully, will encourage him to stay on at the club. Whatever, the reasons for his non selection, Haumole will know what they are. As supporters, we usually only operate in the realm of speculation.
