The off season buzz word has been structure
Actually the buzz word has been 'connections', every interview the players talk about how connected they are now, apparently it's about what a close bunch they now are. And so far it seems on point, we've had several forwards coming up from reserve grade and some going back, several reserve backs stepping up, and mostly the team has been doing well.
Long may they all be connected!

No Tom,Schu or Koula I just dont think we'll have enough points in us. Tits by 10.
Manly kept Dogs to 6, Rabbits to 13, Storm to 8, no reason we can't restrict the Titans to a modest total.
DCE and his kicking will be vital.
Titans will target Weekes at the back and Johns in the front line.
Our forwards must beat theirs because otherwise their dangerous backs will cause big problems.

It will be WET N WILD this evening and I expect a thrilling climax ending

Not many points are scored in wet weather footy and the team that can hold on to the ball will hold on to the game

We are favorites and we should win If we should get our act together

We just need to be smart, we’ll disciplined and control the lions share of the ball, the Titans backs have their own big problems defensively, Jo Jo especially, but they are suspect on both edges.

A pretty important game this one , win and next week we could be playing for 1st spot after 10 rounds.

And who would have predicted that ???

today we see how that works with Tom out. An awful lot of our attack funnels through Tom as a ball runner and distributor

not really seeing Kaeo in the same mould so he will need different ball to be effective. looks more effective in the tadesco mould, sniffing about, trying to catch out forward slugs with foot work and acceleration. wet track not helpful overall but could be also

be great if he had a kicking game. So many quality fullbacks but very few provide backup kicking ,
Structure in defence and attack and quality defence and residence. Last play options need to be correct and there needs to be lots of grubbers in goal and repeat sets.

Today will be less about what we score and more about what we keep out. The team has plenty of pts in them to win. 3 or 4trys will be enough as long as we keep the Tits to less.

Sorry your are correct regarding connect
i meant the silvertails off season marketing dept
i should clarify

It's the spiritual home ground of the Sea Eagles that Manly fans just cherish and opposition teams hate to play at.

And tonight, the historic Brookvale Oval (now known as 4 Pines Park) will reach a special milestone when the 700th Manly first grade game is played when the Sea Eagles take on the Gold Coast Titans.

Looking over our squad I think we are capable of putting on some exciting attacking displays (despite the weather) with our speedsters - Saab and Weekes.

I'm hoping that John's and Croker have strong games because we need them at their attacking best to add some rhythm and fluency to our attack particularly with the slippery ball.

Our starting pack are very strong so we could win the arm wrestle very early on and get out to a handy lead.

Our bench is pretty good. If we had 4 Sipley's we would have the strongest bench in the comp imho. He has been sensational since coming back. Major impact. Bullemor has also provided good immediate impact recently so we can really keep the momentum going when these two come on.

Lawton I am not sold on so let him prove me wrong. He is a very clunky player from what I have seen this year.

Keppie has also been pretty average this year. He is capable because we have seen it so let's hope he moves out of second gear for a change.

Would much prefer Fainu to take his place as he would really help our go forward. He is a strong boy with good post contact.

I am also looking forward to seeing how Garrick goes in the centres. Here is his chance to show his more creative side and prove his worth for a potential permanent position change.

I really hope we play smart wet weather football and keep our errors to a minimum. We need to keep them pinned in their red zone all game. If we do that they’ll get frustrated and chance their arm and make mistakes. DCE needs to play a smart patient game tonight and we need repeat sets from grubbers when we are close to their try line. The pack really need to roll their shelves up and work hard in heavy conditions.

The key to the Bulldogs and Storm games were that we were able to maintain 60% and 65% of territory (respectively).

I'd actually like to see the titans have a lot of ball today. In the wet it's a good chance to build some resilience. Lately (especially Tigers, Storm games) it seems we can do a great job at controlling possession/territory, but tend to struggle converting opportunities. When momentum inevitably changes, it always seems likely that the opposition can quickly get points and even the game (this actually was the case in the Tigers, Knights games).
