Well there you go, must have been my hearing. All those other poor people in the 50's must have been afflicted as well or didn't sing it fast enough. Or maybe old Norths supporters, there were plenty of them around at the time. Perhaps that's how Seagles became Beagles. 😉

10cc had a hit in the 70s that was a misheard quote from a radio where the announcer said; "Life is a mystery". The song writers, Eric Stewart and Lol Creme heard it as "Life is a Minestrone", and it was a hit.

I've always heard our team song (not Eagle Rock) as "Up the mighty SeaEagles" just sung quickly. But life is a mystery.

If you have ever been to a game at Brookvale and known the joy of the atmosphere on the hill, heard the songs and chants that are put up by the faithful on the hill and wanted to join in, but never known the words, then this page is exactly what you are looking for.

If you have ever been to a game at Brookvale and known the joy of the atmosphere on the hill, heard the songs and chants that are put up by the faithful on the hill and wanted to join in, but never known the words, then this page is exactly what you are looking for.

We aim to gather all the songs here, all the chants and hope that we can all learn them to drown out the opposition fans.

Yeah I had seen this one but couldn't see any point in trying to flog a dead horse.
The first part of the old Manly song says up the mighty sea eagles while the second says"mighty seaguls above the din" if I remember. Bit of an each way bet by the look of it.
What I said originally was a lot of people in those days called them Manly seagulls. All I can add is why did Arko say something like I'd like a quid for all the people that asked him when they changed from Seagulls to Sea Eagles. I was not alone or we were all not singing it fast enough.
