Manly's season launch tonight

Interested to know if anyone has headed down to the Manly season launch tonight.

Just following on twitter it was announced tonight that there will be a tribute at Brookvale (I shan't be calling it Lottoland, as it was referred to) for both Matai and Stewart.

If anyone attends feel free to share any reports!

@bones would be the man to ask. He's given some good reports in the past on Manlys season launch.

Just seen some video on instagram from the official page, looked like it was shot on an iPhone. Just shake my head with how the media department just come up looking so unprofessional and budget. No way I'd put that quality of content out.

I hope there's a proper tribute at Brookvale for these legends during the season proper.
The fans deserve a chance to thank these two for the brilliant, Premiership winning memories.

I was there and it was good night and the players seemed to look much fitter than last year and those I spoke to claim they are.

They seem to be pretty happy and you could see lots of nodding of agreement from the players when Trent spoke and also DCE, so they seem to be in accord with what they have been doing and what is planned. Trent said he was happy that they now have greater depth and if injuries occur it will make it much easier than last year to have suitable replacements and competition for places in the team is very strong.

Interesting is that they are 'dry' (no alcohol) until the end of round five. Some of the guys are apparently finding it a bit tough being dry but they have all agreed to abide by it as they want to get off to a strong start, unlike last season.

Zorba got cranky with the way Matt Shirvington was doing the auction so he pushed him aside and took over and Matt looked rather shocked by it all. It was quite a funny moment.

Food was good and booze was good and service was very good.

A great impromptu moment at the end of the night was when some of the players mulled around the piano outside the venue, while one played (Matthew Wright I think) and they sang 'Stand by me'.

Thanks for the great report RMD.
I saw a pic of Beaver Menzies at the launch but didn't see any other former players. We're there many there?
Were Snake and Skivvi there?
Thanks again!

No neither was there and it was very strange as we had to drink a toast to them. Penn just said they couldn't make it and they will have a fitting farewell at a home game which is yet to be decided. I didn't notice any other former players there apart from Beaver.

Thanks RMD. I wish it still felt more like a club. @
