To clarify - this is for members of the MWRLFC (Football Club) - not members of the NRL Sea Eagles, or the Leagues Club.
Not everyone may be aware that MWRLFC is a separate entity, and a minor shareholder of the NRL franchise, with controlling rights on our name and colours. And awards Life Membership to our most legendary players and administrators.

Please ask them :

1. Who are the recruiters for the club at present ?
2. How, given our roster, are we salary cap stretched?
3. What the HELL is the recruitment strategy here?

I've attended in the past, can't make it today though.
For any new-ish readers, the MWRLFC (the Football Club) is the body that ran the club until privatisation, and still retains a minority shareholding and spot on the board of Sea Eagles, which is the privatised entity that now controls the NRL operation (majority owner, Penn).
All Manly fans are strongly encouraged to join the Football Club.

Yes, sorry, a bit late getting to this. Here goes.

Tony Mestrov:
They admit defence is the problem and has to improve. They have hired a defence analyst (I was tempted to say, we would do it for free).
We definitely have Onitoni Large, as well as Joey Walsh and the young hooker whose name noone can pronounce. Described as 'the spine of the future' along with Lehi.
Jamie Humphreys wanted a starting half role, we couldn't offer.
Seibold contract renewal before Christmas.
We requested the Magic Round bye, seen as a positive to not do Brisbane.
Development/extension of Brookie - no news, all options being pursued.
NRLW - we have admission to the comp locked in for 2027. Will have women's reserve grade back 2026 (why we dropped it this year not explained).
Pathways - local focus, Western Sydney dumped.
Choc Watmough to be Jersey Flegg coach in 2025.
Membership at 20,000. Another series of The Manly Way (as reported elsewhere).
3 grades at home several times next season.

Choc (coach) and David O'Donnell (manager) spoke in detail on the first season of Sydney Shield. That squad is training with Jersey Flegg - not sure if Choc is supposed to coach both, but he seems very passionate about it (his son Jake was Sydney Shield player of the year).

No Life Member added this year, so a shorter meeting.

Also - Tooves told me has not been approached to coach NSW Origin (no surprise, but I took the chance to ask him).

Thanks @Rosko - appreciate you giving up your time to go to the meeting. Alas I'm just one of the members who give my proxy vote to the chairman so I like hearing about the meeting.

They're welcome to hold it here in Canada. I'll fly them myself (see above pic...lol).

thanks!

Thank you for your Effort in attending the meeting and your report feathered friend

I just renewed my membership. The mwrlfc can put you on recurring payment, which I don't mind, but then from about mid november onwards they start emailing reminders that your membership is due to expire, lol.

The auto renew payment is flagged to be charged in January, but I always feel bad they send out those emails, so I end up paying early.

Interestingly (or not) for you pcyshologists out there....the last 5 or so years I've paid on the same date! there must be a timeline to my thoughts.

Anyway - the MWRLFC controls the maroon and white of the club, they have two very important preference shares including one about the amount of home games that must be played at Brookie.

Having a diverse membership base makes it harder for say...one entity to get 1000 or so business associates to join and gain control over those two shares. If ya know what I'm saying...winkwink wink.

-for example!!!

Yep, just received a reminder email for payment ahead of my auto-payment.

Join up if you haven’t already - it’s worthwhile like GE says.
