DID anyone see this coming?

The father-son combination of Ivan and Nathan have been linked to a jaw-dropping move to Brisbane, and if it comes off, it would turn the NRL on its head.

The rumour was revealed by The Daily Telegraph’s Dean Ritchie on Triple M’s The Rush Hour with MG on Thursday night.

The Broncos have been actively seeking a coaching successor to Wayne Bennett who is off contract in 2019, while they’ve struggled to fill the playmaking void left by Ben Hunt.

The Cleary duo could well solve their problems — and for a long time to come.

“There’s been speculation for a few months now that Nathan and Ivan Cleary would go to the Roosters on a package deal after next year,” Ritchie said.

“The latest rumour suggests they could pack up their bags, book a flight together, head straight to the Broncos.

“By that time, Bennett’s gone, and they could be the halfback and coach to take Brisbane into the future.

“Look, it’ll be denied now and it’s a rumour now so I’m not going to categorically say it will happen, but certainly where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”

Despite missing out on Paul Green and Craig Bellamy and there not being an apparent Bennett successor, NRL 360 host Paul Kent believed the veteran coach wouldn’t be there past his current contract which expires at the end of 2019.
....

They were speaking about it on some show last night and I felt sick.
Bonco's just seem to be able to do what they want regardless of contracts or anything like that.
One of the panel said they'd probably left it too late for next year.
I hope the tigers stick to their guns with Ivan.
As for the riff I can't see them letting Nathan go.
The bonco's and rorters are becoming out of control.

DEAN RITCHIE,enough said.I bet we see the same people that were pissed off about his “North Sydney businessmen” buying Manly story, getting upset about this. Can we not give this story anymore legs than it has?Absolute BS.

Far as I'm concerned, going to Brisbane is only as annoying as going to the Roosters.
Both seem to have no salary cap questions and along with Sharks and Penrith, seem to be scooping up any NRL talent that hits the market and leave the second tier NRL players for the rest to scavenge over.
Newcastle grabbed a big list of over priced signings for 2018, but at least have a few hacks running around among the squad to justify it.
How the same teams are linked to every Top flight player available without question is a head scratcher.
I realise there are better managed teams in relation to negotiating, accountancy ect than Manly - but this is turning into a flat out joke !!

The NRL full stop is a flat out joke, on so so many levels it’s no longer funny.

The game spirals downwards at an alarming rate and the fat cats continue to enjoy their snouts in the trough unabated.

I agree that the Sharks are going under everyone's radar. Just as dodgy as the Broncos, Roosters and Eels...

If these two are officially on the market as a package deal, HELLO PENNS!!?!? Get it done

Funny stuff indeed.

Seriously as if they'd come to Many.

You see we go after the Nate Myles and Bryce Cartwrights of the world.

Does this mean that old bloke might be available to coach us then? After Barrett goes to Penriff of course?
