New 5/8 will feel safe

There are many various calls for who will be 5/8 with Baz and Co having a favoured option, but trials WILL mean something, making healthy competition.
The Massive thing for whoever wins the spot, is the fact they will play behind a big, powerful, mobile pack.
The spine with API, DCE and Turno will also take heat off them, but to see this 2018 pack with size and depth...the roll on will really assist the new 5/8 in attack and defensively, the addition of Thompson will also provide protection and give confidence defending that edge.

We have a few exciting prospects and trials should mean something this season .

I would think that Baz will give the new half a very simple gameplan. Especially weeks 1-5. We played it pretty simple last year as a whole and id expect that to be built upon with more complex plays being added this year.

While I agree Maxta

I still have nervousness around our centres due to the uncertainty around Dylan

Killer and Stevie made this position their own for us for many years and it was kind of just taken for granted that our halves played to them

I think a fully fit walker in the centres will be just as important to making our number 6 perform as the spine and if we are skinny in the centres then the pressure will mount on our halves and see us possibly push or have to try to hard

If Dylan comes back strong we are specials for the 4 and no reason we can’t win the comp

I disagree that a fully fit Walker will help our 6. Cherry Evans naturally plays more of his game on the right alongside Walker, so (like Green) I am assuming our new 6 will be asked to play (in general) on the left. Therefore Thompson and Kelly are the key men in helping out whoever plays 6.
