1. Gallop received expert advice that a face of the game strategy was fundamentally flawed and risked damaging the image of the code.  
2. Gallop ignores the expert advice and takes the risk, selecting Stewart, Inglis and Johns as his face of the game identities.
3. Gallop manages a trifecta scoring a grand slam disaster with every one of his choices ... as forewarned.
4. Now Gallop wants to build on his "face of the game" strategy, selecting Hayne, who recently was involved in a firearms incident at the Cross?

Meanwhile Gallop feels qualified to lecture the players and clubs on how to not damage the image of the game through rash and ill-considered decision-making. That's pretty much it, except you forgot to mention Gallops a St George fan and that Soward had received a lot of preferential treatment this year. Ensuring that a bitter, kicker and diver will be probably honoured as the games best and fairest player this year.
