Non-Manly Games [Round 1, 2017]

GI will not recover well as this was his good knee - Age gets us all :nerd:

I hope Twenty was watching how easy it is to score a try from a scrum with a kick to a chasing winger. It was refreshing to see this tactic used last night - and Inglis had so much time to gather and score it was ridiculous.
Posters on Silvertails have been recommending this tactic for at least five years, but coaches prefer to put a plodding front rower at 5/8 to die with the ball.
A scrum is the best, and easiest, place to attack from. Just look at how backlines used it to attack in the 1960s and 70s. Nowdays it is even easier with the fullback often packing into the scrum.
I can't see why this tactic shouldn't become as widely used as the sixth tackle kick-and-hope scenario.

I remember us doing this with shearer a couple of times. Wonderfully exciting stuff, the whole crowd stand up and watch the sprint.

Manly used to play smart till they got lulled into boring power plays 😕

If I see one more article on how strong Taupau is, I'll :banghead:

Let's have a mobile team who can offload or kick for field position :praying:

If I was a halfback and I saw the opposition fullback pack into a scrum and saw the wingers playing tiddlywinks because they figure they don't have to do any defense for 6 tackles, I'd get the ball off the scrum and immediately boot it downfield for my speed guys to chase.

At worst the opposition gets the ball before your team does, but it might be 50+ metres downfield and their forwards have to get back that 50-odd metres just to be able to take hit ups. At best you get the ball back and score.

Its why I always cringed when I saw Snake packing into a scrum. With our lack of speed on the flanks in recent years a smart opposition could have burnt us for that. Thankfully no one did.

It is only a real worry if you look at it and take it seriously .
Chill out feathered friend 🙂
Seriously you are a strange one. You have no idea what I'm talking about and from now on Bozo no hypocritical statements from you to me.
