The NRL has given these reasons why the Sea Eagles v Dragons Round 16 Monday night match cannot be re-scheduled....
While there is certainly excitement building around the Manly v St George Illawarra game, the schedule for this match was set on April 19 following Round 6, at which time the Dragons were ranked third on the competition table and Manly were ranked fifth. At that time the match did not have the same significance as it now does in many people’s eyes....
This is BS for two reasons:
1: If the schedule was fixed 10 rounds in advance, why do we now only know the schedule up to round 21 – five rounds in advance. They don’t fix matches 10 rounds in advance.
2. They selected the Friday match of the round (Tigers Vs Dogs) as being more important, yet after six rounds the Tigers had won just three from six and the Dogs four from six, compared to St George: five from six and Manly: four from six. This match always had greater significance.
Gee, if the NRL are going to lie you’d expect them to make up ones a lot more credible than they have!
