After meeting with President Biden yesterday and having a good chat about the seaeagles chances this year both Liz and Joe would like me to release the following statement.

We potentially have a super run into the finals if it all goes well. Only teams we play who are currently above us are Storm and Doesntmatta. We tend to lift for storm matches and i recon we have the game to beat the eels.

Obviously its all about how we play but as long as we dont slip up too badly against teams below us we could end up right in the mix for a top 4 place if other results go our way.

To make top 4 we need to make up 6 points. With 11 games left, we need to win 9 or 10 to be a chance and there is a possibility that 11 wins still won't get us there. Most important thing is to be fit and firing come finals time. 5th would be great, as 8th is gonna be cannon fodder this year.

I think 5th is achievable and would most likely avoid playing 1st place until the GF.

Finishing 5th would also mean a home final against 8th, which at this stage looks like either the Dragons or Cowboys.

Home Final I assume would be at Central Coast Stadium due to Brookie's low capacity.

Finishing top 4 is unlikely at this point.

Last team to play 4 matches in the finals and win the premiership was the Cowboys in 2015 (though they finished top 4 and lost first week).

It's still possible (if very unlikely) to finish outside the Top 4 and win the premiership... but we will need our best 17 uninjured and firing. On our day we can beat anyone.

I think our realistic goal right now is 6th place and anything higher than that is a bonus.

If we can get that spot and win final 1 we will play the loser of 2 v 3 in week 2 and that is highly likely to be a Sydney club and if Tommy is fit we are going to be a team that other teams will want to avoid come finals time!

Did the old ladder predictor. There is a chance but everything has to go our way and can only lose 1-2 games. if we can get top 4 that'll be huge.

You need to be careful putting 'official' in your thread title!

The content of this thread is what the Club want or at least we think so.

Now im not sure if this is in fact a wind up or not but on the Official request of her Maj ive changed the thread title to better reflect what Lis thinks of being told not to use the word 'officially'. The lady is not impressed.

haha

It was a wind up from all those years ago and as you can tell... a lot of us were 'not amused' - me included. Got hooked and landed big time that day!

I believe this to be fake news
I fibro eagle was once a Trump advisor 😜

I presume there's a NRL rule that says for Week 1 finals the teams in 5th and 6th place have a home game unless its Manly?

If you recall, we played at Brookie in 2019.

I can see the reasoning for that not being permitted this year as capacity is currently at around 7,500 and considering we have over 11,000 members, plenty would miss out.

Yes would make sense as a one-off with the building site on the northern side of the ground.
