Jake Trbojevic is now going to be the 3rd Manly player to lift the Origin Shield as his states winning captain.

He joins Geoff Toovey (NSW in 1997) and DCE (QLD in 2020, 2022 and 2023).

Max Krilich (NSW 1982–1983) and Paul Vautin (QLD, Game 1, 1988) have been the only other Manly players to captain their state in the Origin era.

I tend to agree. TBF, I thought he was playing injured. I also can’t fault his defensive desire tonight. He was actually working hard to be where the ball was and put his body in there.

It’s the very reason I hate SOO mid season, not to mention the ridiculous pseudo NRL competition during this period.

I hate agreeing with people like Buzz Rothfield but he is right. The NRL suffers when Origin is on.

They've tried everything though and when it is all said and done its never about when the games should be played as far as whats best for the NRL, players and clubs. Its ALL about what is best for the host broadcaster. Whatever Channel 9 wants (their best shot at ratings) is pretty much what Channel 9 will get.
