This game is like the old days of taking a game to a regional centre or to Perth, Adelaide or Darwin. Not exactly a top of the table clash, you just go because you won't get to see another live game for 12 months.

How good is the playing surface at Redcliffe compared to Townsville.

The surface in Townsville was terrible. Players slipping over and ripping big chunks out of the ground everywhere. If it was Brookvale the commentators would have been screaming about it. And next week it's a double header there. Glad we're not playing there. It will look like a cow paddock (pun intended) by the time Souths and Penrith play.

One good thing about the Sunshine Coast stadium is that the surface looks a bit firmer and should be fast.

The refrain from the coaches of underperforming teams are all the same: "We have green shoots sprouting..."
These clubs -- Canterbury, Wests, Cowboys, Brisbane, Illawarra, NZ, Canberra-- all expect their juniors to be their saviours next seasons.
