From the time you play under 7’s level, you are able to take a quick tap once given the mark.
The only other reason you can’t is if team mates are in front of you.
Tonight it’s changed....the ref gives you the mark....you stand there and have to look at him.....he runs back 10 metres and shouts “ok tap it” and of course, the defence is set.
API had tapped, busted the line and had Tom T in support with only the fullback - try time.

The discretion is to give the mark, very rare at any level once the mark is given to stop the play.
I think the 2nd time was identical and he was allowed to run when the ref was next to him??

That penalty resulted in the try to go 18-16 and there were 50+ dodgy play the balls after.

Im no tin foil hat but i would bet my left and right that there is a conspiracy within the NRL right now to remove us from the comp. From the top to the bottom (refs)

API was 40 out....same as the 2nd time when they played on.
I realise it is pulled up in the red zone at times, but won’t see it happen from there again in 2018.

I don't think there will be another 6 in 2018. Was AFB the only offender in the entire game?

Why was the 10m being policed as 5m? That was definitely a positive for Newcastle. No wonder it was dour defensive game.

We should have had a few more penalties come in our way. In the second half one of our players made a run deep inside our half, was tackled then another knights player came in for a second dig.. If it happened the other way round and the ref heard a Boo from the crowd he would have blown his whistle.

When Ponga "tackles" Uate and he drops it over the line, is it just me or was that not a shoulder charge ? ( by the way it's been governed over the past few years).
Yes, we got a penalty - for offside I think - but there was no mention by any of the officials or commentators, in fact they were waxing lyrical about how good a tackle it was.

I was angry about the call as it’s a load of BS as i saw at least 3-4 in the NQL v Cronulla game that didn’t get penalised.

However our team should know better that we will be targeted with any call so AFB and co should just play the ball normally and not give the refs a reason to screw us.
