Gould asked Politis if it was ok if he could work at Penrith. Take what he says about Roosters with a grain of salt.

So when Ryan Hall makes his NRL debut in a few weeks that is another player Easts have developed, eh Gus?

Leeds is one of their junior clubs isn't it?

I mean.....Manly is (JWH), and Melbourne (Cronk), Souffs (Keary, Crichton) and St Merge and the Dogs (Morris)

This article is from 2014, in their words:

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/ro...on-development-with-pride-20140616-zs9dr.html

Everyone knows it but essentially, they buy the best young talent across Australia and NZ (there was no salary cap below under 18s at the time, not sure about now) and then 'develop' them through u18s and u20s.

What they don't mention is that they also buy the best existing NRL talent available on the open market as well.

I just realised I subconsciously don't even register the Chooks as a footy team in my brain. I just see them the same way I see a huge corporation. I don't care when we lose to them because we aren't being beaten fair and square by a club with culture and soul, we just lost to the fat pockets of business moguls. That's not rugby league to me, that's politics.
