Pieterson's "switch" hit

Is it legal?

What are peoples thoughts.

I have one major problem with it, how do they police LBW's now. For mine both sides have have to be now treated as the off side.

Re: Pieterson's "switch" hit

Good point on the LB, I guess you forfeit the whole pitching outside leg thing if you change stance.

I think if you are good enough to do it though it shouldnt be discouraged.
I was watching when he did it and it was pretty spectacular.

Maybe they should also think about letting bowlers bowl with either arm, or bowl either side of the wicket without notice.

Re: Pieterson's "switch" hit

If you start off taking guard as RH then that is what you should be treated at for the duration of that ball.

If the off side suddenly became the leg side then with slips and gully etc you would suddenly have 3 behind square leg and therefore a no ball.

Same with leg side wides, basicaly I think he should be treated as a RHB for the duration of the shot/ball

Agree with Fro.

Athough, if it was a sub continent player we wouldn't be hearing a peep about it.
