I thought the ref was very ordinary and didn't police the two teams equally.
Despite that we showed alot more resilience in defence than we have, showing our mental toughness is improving.
We came up against a red hot Penrith side and even though we still have alot of improvement, after watching the other games so far this weekend I doubt any other team would have got closer than us.
In fact I'm sure we would have beat any other team this weekend.

Here’s a thought. Dce should have done
20-40s when the team was continually pinned deep on our line.

Penrith wouldn’t have expected it, and it would have released the pressure.

I thought our goal line defence was good the first half,riff had all the ball and didn't make any errors we where gassed the second half , Cherry had 2 good kicks for repeat set's

We where simply holding on, Dce may need to look at kick in tackle 2 or 3 if he can see us getting dominated to change momentum

Saab would normally be an option to chase early surprise kicks but he was usually trying to recover after being pummelled catching the ball.

Both for us and the rorters... both will be up for it i think we can get them in a very close one.

It's only round one, we got beat by the reigning premiers who again look like the team to beat. Suck it up, learn where we need to improve and move on. We know from last year that even losing the first 4 games isn't the end of the world. As long as we are in the fight at the sharp end of the season that's all that matters. We will get better

Imo we matched them early until the onslaught of six agains begun. Dont know how many teams could withstand that much possession. Penrith are a class above us we can be a top 4 side but they are 1st for a reason. Our window is closing with these halves, if we had idiot fainu we would be top 2 side. He was better than Api thats why we let him go.... alas 🤦‍♂️
