Quicker than expected return for Tom?

From Zorba's column this week. Encouraging!

Turbo-charged return

A MOST encouraging sight at Manly headquarters this week was a smiling Tommy Trbojevic – minus his moon boot and walking freely.

Trbojevic is making rapid progress from his ankle and knee injury. There is no set date for his return but it will be quicker than first thought.

He will join family members in Brisbane on Wednesday to cheer on elder brother Jake, who will debut for the Blues from the bench.

The club must NOT rush the kid back. We need him primed for our assault on the finals. We have cover in the mean time and we are well placed. We need to learn from last season when the kid played on with a dodgy ankle and needed surgery as a result. He is a long term player for us and the club need a long term strategy for him.

We may not make the finals without him, Wright did a terrific job but when we need something else other than safe at the back, when we need something brilliant it's going to have to be Tom.

Yes, don't rush him back if he's not ready, although if he's ready then hell we'd love him back

We have 2 byes coming up I think the coaching staff will take every precaution in his return. We played very well without him. Matt Wright did a fine job and kicked all of the goals I'm pretty sure. We have raiders and knights we can best them both without Tommy imo

I saw Tom at a Men of League lunch today and he told the crowd that the injuries weren't as bad as first thought. I also played golf with one of the Manly forwards and he said there may be a chance of Tom being fit for the Newcastle game.

Like everybody on here, I hope we only bring him back when he is 100% but that would be telling our medicos the bleeding obvious.

Quick, get him into the nsw s.o.o. side! Can debut with his brother!

lol, kidding (obv) But that's very encouraging news for Tom (and Manly.)

The medical staff at the club would not take any chance with their biggest asset within the playing group.

If he's right to go they'll bring him back, if not he'll continue recovery. I'm sure he'll only be back on the paddock when he is 100%

Absolutely mate but gee i was so impressed with Wrighty...a real mature professional who was just so solid last week and didnt overplay his hand. We are lucky to have a bloke of his calibre ready to go when we need him. Onya Matty!

Yeah i love matty Wright, just a great footballer. He would have been a premiership winning centre if he didn't have all that cronulla drug stuff. Wright can hold that spot as long as need be.
